stop safari from opening last session in Yosemite

I've searched the web looking for an answer.

Just upgraded to Yosemite and have Safari 8 now on my Macbook Pro.

Everytime I open Safari, it opens my last session...I get some people like this, I do not.

I've seen that there’s now a separate preference for what Safari 8 should do on startup: open a new window or restore all windows from the previous session.

I can't seem to find the option in Safari preferences anymore.

I want Safari to open to my homepage....I shouldn't have to click the Shift button every time....plz help.

MacBook Pro, OS X Yosemite (10.10)

I've tried these settings and they don't work for me. I'm in El Capitan 10.11.1 and Safari 9.0.1 on an early 2015 Macbook Pro retina. I've also installed El Capitan on my old 2008 Macbook and its having the same exact issue with the same exact version of Safari. The issue was not present in either computer before updating to El Capitan. I've also tried command+alt+q. Didn't work either. Any other solutions?

Thanks in advance.
