I paid for my subscription and up until yesterday was streaming AD-Free on my PC. This morning iTunes updated and now the ADs are back. How do I fix this?

My account shows I have iTunes radio until July 2015. Disappointment for this service aside, it was working fine without any ads. Then on 10/21/14 my PC ran an iTunes update. After it, every two songs, I have dreaded ads.... I've tried re-starting iTunes, ensuring that this PC is Authorized in store and turned off and then back on iTunes Match. Yet I still have ADs streaming. How do I get rid of the ADs?

I had the same problem and started this Q&A: http://apple.stackexchange.com/questions/152059/i-pay-for-itunes-match-so-why-do es-itunes-radio-now-have-ads-itunes-12-0-1-26

In short:

I went to Store -> Update iTunes Match, after it updated I skipped through the max (6 songs) on 4 different stations (24 total songs) and have not seen an ad yet. Maybe that did the trick. I was skipping through them though, not listening to them.

Yep, I don't blame you. I'm honestly considering the same. The Match part is nice, but I bought it mostly so I wouldn't have to deal with ads when listening to the radio. If I can't have that, then whats the point?

Edit: I'd like to add to this (lol pun). Are all of you on the newest version of iTunes? I never had this problem until I updated to 12.0.1.

Yes, I'm on the red one, 12.01.26. It updated on my home computer last night and I was able to listen to that one fine, I was able to listen off of my ipad this morning also ad-free. Then when I got to my work pc, it updated (same as my home) except the ads are here... taunting me.

At least Pandora never gave me this hassle when it updated... 😐

ditto...

Worked fine for 8 months until 10/20. Tried turning off match, sign out of itunes, exit, re-open, sign in itunes, turn on match. Maybe will try uninstalling and reinstalling if this keeps happening.

This is insult to injury after half the stations I listened to mysteriously disappeared and don't seem to exist to re-add anymore. Thankfully, my custom stations remained.

SWIFFER this away gd apple!

Hah, wow. Exact same thing here. Worked fine at home last night, but today, at work, its started the ads. I'll be very curious to see if the problem persists at home now. I can't imagine what difference there could be between the two. There really shouldn't be one, at least nothing that would provoke ads. If anything I would think the filter here at work would stop the ads. I swear, if I have to hear Kendrick Lamar's crappy rap ad one more time. 😠
