kodak printers and Yosemite

I reported the problem of my Kodak printer not working after updating to Yosemite and have been following the chat, trying out the suggested fixes to no avail.

I finally had a call back from Kodak and they are aware of the issue which has affected people word wide. I tried the suggested fixes and they finally confirmed that their development group are working with urgency to produce new software for us to download. The issue is to do with the extra security within Yosemite.

I will post details as I receive them from Kodak.

Just received this email from Kodak for a fix:

Do the following steps to address the issue:

  1. Go to Spotlight, then enter Terminal and press Enter.
    The terminal window/program opens.
  2. Enter sudo sh -c 'echo "Sandboxing Relaxed" >> /etc/cups/cups-files.conf' in the terminal.
  3. Enter your system OS login password when prompted.
Note: The password you enter will not appear, which is normal. Be sure to enter the correct password.
  4. Enter sudo launchctl stop org.cups.cupsdYour screen will look similar to the following:
Last login: Mon Nov 10 16:34:57 on console
    Macintosh:~ lindaterry$ sudo sh -c 'echo "Sandboxing Relaxed" >> /etc/cups/cups-files.conf'
    Password:
    Sorry, try again.
    Password:
