Outlook/exchange calendar not syncing with iOS8

I upgraded to iOS8 on my iPhone5s. I have Outlook for work, my emails are working just fine....no interruption. However, my Outlook/exchange calendar isn't syncing. It will show recurring appointments that I've had for a while, but it won't show any appointments/meetings that I created/was invited to since I've upgraded to iOS8. I have several co-workers who are having the same issue.

It's a HUGE problem. I'm tired of "double booking" myself, just so I can see an appointment on my iPhone.

Help!!

I was having this issue also. I deleted the Exchange account on my iPhone then re-added it. Then I restarted my iPhone and it's working again. Hope that helps.

Yeah, sounds like I might be lucky for now. Only other thing (which I'm sure you've checked) is to go into the calendar on your iphone and select calendars, and make sure that when you add an event on your calendar on your phone or through outlook that it is for the correct email address that you are using for your outlook/exchange email. I sometimes add an event on my phone under my personal email address, which will not sync to my outlook for my work email. I strictly use outlook only for my work, so I have to make sure that if I add an event for work that it is color coded for my work email if I want it to sync.

I appreciate the advice. But my personal email is my work email. I don't have an additional email such as gmail or yahoo. I'll keep watching the posting to see if someone comes up with a solution. IF not, then I guess I am the proud owner of an expensive paper weight because I'll switch to an android based device if I can't get this resolved in the next 30 days.

MAYBE APPLE IS WATCHING THE POSTINGS. Seems they like to track everything else.

I got my problem resolved so far (after 2 days, the calendar is syncing...we'll see for how long). This is what I did:

1. Turned off Find My iPhone

2. Backed up my photos to iPhoto

3. Made sure my contacts were backed up to iCloud

4. Hooked my phone up to iTunes and transferred all purchases from the phone to iTunes

5. Did a restore (but not from a back up). This brought the phone back to its original state so I had to follow prompts to set up the phone like I did the first time.

6. Turned off calendar in iCloud

7. Set up all of my email accounts

8. Contacts came over after putting in my iCloud settings

9. Only thing I lost were saved voice mails and texts which I thought would be the case (there is a way to back them up, but I didn't care about that)

After two days, all is syncing perfectly, but it was one big pain to have to go through all this again. Keeping my fingers crossed that it was worth the trouble and the problem doesn't come back again. GOOD LUCK!

I Upgraded to an iphone 6 today and lost my Microsoft Outlook mail and calendar. Was working just fine on my iPhone 5 with iOS 8.1.3 And still works on my iPad 2 with 8.1.3... During the iphone 6 setup, it loaded 8.1.3. No totally convinced it's a software issue...

Tried all the suggested fixes in this forum today :-( no luck....

Thanks Apple! Maybe it's time to spend some of that 770 billion!

Oh and thanks for the heads up about upgrading to IOS 8 and wiping out my Aperature app

My calendar syncing issue was fixed by checking the Exchange Calendar under Default Calendar (Settings/mail, contacts, calendars - scroll to bottom). I have two options there; Exchange and Icloud. Icloud was checked.. I changed it to Exchange. Now everything is working.. I would check the same setting under Contacts. Exchange is checked there for me and my contacts sync fine. Fingers crossed everything is working so far...

That's one potential cause of the issue at hand. Some users are experiencing a complete loss in syncing even after confirming that they have their default calendars set appropriately. I've worked with some users who only have exchange calendars configured on their phones but new calendar entries added to their phones fail to carry over to their Outlook calendar on their desktop until we delete and re-add the account. The unfortunate side to that process is any events added that failed to sync are lost. If anyone has a way to address that last piece (until this issue is completely resolved), I'm all ears!
