bluetooth audio lag in yosemite

Same problem on 13-inch, Mid 2012 MBP

Same problem--lag and crackling--using my Bose Soundlink III. Wish so much I'd never updated to Yosemite. Problems with my mail, too, plus everything is SOOOOOOOOOO slow. Ugh. Used to love Apple.

Everything working fine since? I since downgraded to Mavericks I wouldn't go back to Yosemite, only if a clean install really works.

Doing this clean install did take care of the freezing/hiccups I was experiencing but it didn't take care of the lag issue. Can any else confirm that reformatting and doing a fresh install took care of their lag issue?

I'm having the same problems. The lag problem occurred despite the fact I did a clean install of Yosemite.

So for me doing that again is no option – it takes lots of time and the probability to fix the issue permanently is quite small.

I hope there will be another solution to fix this problem soon.

I noticed that if I turn off my wifi the lag disappears, perhaps this is a radio interference or a process interruption to bluetooth.

I did a clean install and it did not correct the problem. I'm very disappointed with Yosemite and Apple. It seems like it is a problem that only Apple can correct and it doesn't appear that a solution is on the horizon.

This solution worked for my Jaybird Freedom Sprint (JF4) headphones.

After a few days I've discovered that the improvements made by this technique have disappeared, particularly with NetFlix regardless of the browser, FireFox, Safari or Chrome. Also, the problem continues even when I'm using Windows 7 Ultimate (64 bit) via VirtualBox and Windows 7 Ultimate (32 bit) via Bootcamp. Another device, a Bose BT2 earpiece, causes the same delay.

@tdatu00 Howsoever the problem didn't occur with previous operating systems. It must be an issue caused by software which can and should and be fixed by Apple.

Having this same problem streaming any audio to my Cambridge Soundworks Oontz Angle bluetooth speaker. Works fine from my iPhone - same wifi network. Really frustrating and disappointing. And I do have a fresh install of Yosemite. Seems my issues are tied to my magic mouse. I've installed fresh batteries but as soon as I power on the mouse my bluetooth speaker connection goes south. Hope this helps someone. I'm working with another mouse for the time being and no issues. Weird!!!

I went to the trouble of logging in just to say that exactly nailed the problem on the head. Not only did I have lag and weird responses, but I was also able to test it by hitting forward and pause on the keyboard. It would take 2-5 seconds to respond. Once I specified that all sounds go to the headphones, it went right back to normal.

I upgraded from Mavericks, which itself was upgraded from Snow Leopard. It's entirely possible on a fresh install it's not a problem.

I am running into the same problems. This is on a clean install on a Mid 2012 MacBook Pro with 8GB ram and a solid state drive. I have even run all maintenance options in Onyx. It definitely seems to be an issue specific to Yosemite and I just updated (today) to the latest version 10.10.2.

Side note - it seems to only act up when I am making changes, click or scrolling in a web page.
