Yosemite screensaver problem. Constsantly reverts back to National Geographic.
Has anyone found a fix to the screensaver problem? Nothing I try seems to work, including editing the Library files.
Thanks.

I've been having this problem too, doesn't look like there is a solution out there. Are you trying to select your own photo library from iPhoto?
What might be worth looking into is processor related maybe? If anyone else besides us is reading these, I have a Mac mini with Yosemite just installed and that screensaver works fine. My MacBook Air has the same screensaver problem as all the others in this discussion. My MacBook Air is 2010 and my Mac mini is 2012.
I have 2 iMacs and an Air. My Air works fine with Yoesemite on this this issue. Not sure if that leads us any further.
I have simply put the photos I want in my screensaver in the National Geographic folder (and deleted theirs) and it has worked perfectly for the past 4 weeks as a work around.
I had an online chat session yesterday with Apple. The guy I was chatting with was unaware of any screensaver problem with Yosemite! Very disappointing. We went through a shared screen session in which (I think) he got me to trash certain Screensaver files. He then instructed a restart but stated that if it did not work then I should use the telephone contact. I restarted and everything appeared ok. But, when I turned iMac on this morning it was back to Nat Geog again. So it looks like a phone session later today.
This actually has turned out to be a very interesting discussion. First of all thanks to all who have remained determined to solve this also. As pety as it may seem it could be indicative of a tip of the iceburg. Possibly Yosemite was rushed to release before more bugs could be solved. This doesn't bother me in as much as I believe Apple still to be a superior product. Small nuisance it may seem. I was at the Genius Bar today reading and posting responses to communities while listening to other frustrations. They are still professionally willing to help, and in todays tech explosion that's refreshing. It appears this is on the back burner so to say. I'm intrigued to hear your follow up with phone support, after all Apple Genius', are still human.
Should is the correct word, but they Apple Techs have not been able to come up with anything, or can't be bothered. In any case it just takes a minute to put the National Geographic pictures back if and when someone finds a fix and no one's feelings will be hurt. Meanwhile, it works. That's what is important.
je veut reinstaller mon mac book pro. j'ai deja installer un windows 7 lors de l'installtion j'ai formaté les partition et je veut remetre os x
This is a known issue snce at least last October and the work around is so very easy. Just replace the pictures in the National Graphic folder with yours.
Under the finder menu, select go and then "go to folder" and paste in /Library/Screen Savers/Default Collections/1-National Geographic Or, in the finder window, select library, then scroll down to screen savers, and select the only folder there, default collections. In there you see the national geographic older. Save those pictures if you like to a folder somewhere or delete them if you don't want them and then add your own photos to the national geographic folder. Or, rename the national geographic folder to National Geoaraphic old and create a new National Geoaraphic folder.
Did this about 4 weeks ago. Works perfectly.
Just a reminder, or for the sake of those not reading every response here: Yes, known issue. Yes, "easy" work-around..... unless you have 2,863 photos to move. However, it is a flaw that may be indicative of a larger, more sinister issue and it should be fixed. Apple needs to get their proverbial feces together and get on this, imho.
Exactly! I have thousands of photos...too many to put into the National Geographic folder.
Same with me. I had a 40min phone call with Apple Support yesterday and he lead me through some actions to resolve the issue. Mainly deleting certain apple.com files from the Library and resetting. No problem for 24 hours but it has just reverted!! Again the guy seemed totally unaware that this was a universal problem and my complaint as to why had Apple not fixed it was met with no encouraging comment.
Bravo. Let's keep trying, I like this. Still researching processor or memory related. I don't want to pry or expect your particulars however if some would like to post their system info from Apple logo upper left, system report. Mine is Intel Core 2 Duo, 1.86 GHz, 1 processor, 2 Cores, L2 Cache 6MB, Memory 2GB, Buss Speed 1.07 GHz. C'mon someone from Apple must be reading these!

Just guessing here, but perhaps the problem isn't as universal as you think. 🙂

I have had another online chat and this time was recommended to reinstall Yosemite as this process had solved some other problems. Apple sent a link and I have done it. However, after about one hour my screensaver reverted to Nat Geog!! Another failed solution.
