Yosemite screensaver problem. Constsantly reverts back to National Geographic.
Has anyone found a fix to the screensaver problem? Nothing I try seems to work, including editing the Library files.
Thanks.

I've been having this problem too, doesn't look like there is a solution out there. Are you trying to select your own photo library from iPhoto?
Ok. I love my Macs. I love these communities we have. Just kinda browsing through all the problems and remaining patient. Somehow Apple always pulls through. One oddity I can mention here is I have that screensaver problem on my MacBook Air. On my Mac mini Server the screen saver works great. Both running Yosemite. Hmmmm.
Some and Bradley: I was confused. Yosemite is all I have, and it is not a screen saver, as I suggested. I guess it is just the desktop pic. So, that apparently explains why I could not get any results by putting my pics in the Nat Geo folder; it ain't lookin' in there. Sorry for the confusion on my part.
I have the National Geographic problem, and started to try your workaround, but then noticed that I'm using 10,000 photos for my screensaver and don't want to pick and choose. Any other solutions?
I finally got the Cosmos screensaver to stick. Same category as National Geographic?
maxdog: how?
I just selected it and it stuck. If I try anything else from photos, etc. it doesn't stay. I thought well I'll try another that's at the same level Default Collections to see if it worked. What still puzzles me is I loaded Yosemite on my Mac Mini at the same time and I can choose any screensaver and it works. Still running Family photos there. Maybe someone else will read these and have a clue. My MacBook Air is late 2010 my Mac Mini is mid 2011.
The same for me. Whatever screensaver I chose (cosmos, or personal library events), it revert back to National geographic screensaver.
I have tried deleting pref files with no luck.
I finally put all my screensaver pictures in the Nat Geo folder (in Library > Screensaver), and deleted the pictures that were there.
That has worked for the past 2 weeks to give me a screensaver with my pictures.
Booted to safe boot, issue persists. Works fine with my pictures in the National Geographic folder.
Engineering says "Based on the details you provided, we think you might find the following information helpful: " and provides a link to my profile. The case notes suggest troubleshooting steps for issues that have nothing to do with this issue, such as "After "Apply to enclosed items…", unable to change prefs, remove/save files, iPhoto/iTunes issues, Preview/TextEdit quit. My wife was so fed up a not seeing our own photos as the screensaver that she doodled around and appears to have come up with a fix. She activated the "show clock" link on the screensaver drop down and since then our photos have always appeared as the screensaver. You do of course get the clock superimposed on the photo, but that is better than the Nat Geog photos.
That worked for me, too! I tried that option a few weeks ago and my photos have remained as the screensaver ever since....I just wasn't sure if that was the fix, as I was trying so many different things. Thanks!
This is really strange, but shortly after I posted, mine reverted to National Geographic even with the clock!
That is strange!! We will keep an eye on ours over the coming weeks.
After one successful day ours has also now reverted to Nat Geo with clock. Most frustrating.
It IS frustrating. Mine won't stick at all now.
