iPad Air 2 WiFi Issues
I'm having WiFi connectivity issues on my new iPad Air 2 (WiFi only). I'm having to turn WiFi off and on to reset my connection. Restarting and restoring hasn't fixed the issue.

So this blog ha been going for two years and still no fix.
come on Apple step up to this issue. It's a real pain.
I have to agree with ClaireLeia. The problem is with Apple's software, most likely.
Use the Feedback form on this site and call Apple's Tech Support and notify them of this issue.
I Calledvtwo times, and they told me that the right way is to send comments, at the web site i gave you
by phone the never accept the fact that thus us an apple problem....
Maybe they'd listen if many people started returning their iPad Air 2 for a full refund. Very arrogant of them not to acknowledge that there is a problem.
I got the same answer at the store when they swapped me a new iPad Air 2.
They also basically said that these discussion forums are full of complaints.
I Wonder why, vote with your money and walk away.
The arrogance is not on Apple's part - it's on the part of those who cannot believe it's their router or how they have set up that router which is the problem!
If this were a software problem, EVERYONE would be having it, not 19 pages of the same stuff over and over, written by people who refuse to call Customer Service and try to work out where the problem is. Believe me, if this were a universal problem, it would be on the front page of the NYTimes. It is not on all the typical Apple sites, either.
If Apple was getting returns right and left and no one could use their wifi, they would "own" the problem. Neither is happening.
I Called twice! And the guy tell me to go to apple.ca, search comments and report the problem with the ipad...
it is a problem with things explain in the apple community, i cannot explain it to you but some has done it..please read all the comments...
called for the 3rd time, this time to 'level 1 support' to report that a full reset did not resolve the issue. the very nice tech support guy stated that the only thing i can do is either send in for apple to troubleshoot (no replacement will be issued and there is no timeframe for completion) or go into an apple store for them to verify for replacement or refund
travelling most of the month of november, so i'll wait until december to take to an apple store. hopefully apple will have some resolution by then. if not i'll go android
oh... and he said this was the first he's heard of any wifi issues with the air2
good luck to all
AH ah ah,......they always said that...always the same thing
Perhaps they say this as it is the truth! Do you truly believe that Apple made a product that no one can use to access the internet unless they have an ethernet connection? That they would lie about it if that were the case? Why does my iPad work just fine? Am I "just special"?
Apple cannot admit to a problem that is a problem only for a handful of people who refuse to believe their router, of the way they have it set up, is the problem.
Maybe it is a router problem, but its not a problem for any of the other devices on the network (mini, 4s, macmini, sonos, note4). I also reloaded router firmware and reconfigured.
In addition I have problems at Starbucks, SF Public Library, CalTrain, Stanford University. I never have problems with my Note2 on any of these networks with my Note2 (which I use on wifi almost exclusively as I have a thin data plan with ATT).
Could be I have a defective device and my issues are unique to it, however reading comments here and from other web sources, I doubt it.
The only thing I find strange is all this is the 3 times I've called Apple Support, they've said this is the first instance they've heard of an Air2 wifi disconnect issue
good luck to all
It is Apple's arrogance. Where have you been? There have been WiFi issues since iOS 8, iOS 8.0.1, iOS 8.02 and now iOS 8.1.
This new iPad Air 2 is my THIRD iPad. Two models before this Air 2 did not exhibit these WiFi issues with the SAME router. And neither are my 9 other devices in my home are having WiFi issues. None.
I build systems and networks and know what I'm talking about. The problem clearly lies with something an engineer overlooked in the iOS 8+ software. All the suggestions and "fixes" listed on Apple.com and elsewhere do not alleviate the problem.
It isn't a handful. Get with the program. These Apple Discussion Forums are littered with complaints. It's not just this one thread with a "handful". There are several threads with the "WIFi connected but no Internet access" issue. You happen to be LUCKY and not have the issue many here and elsewhere are having.
I don't disagree that the problem could most likely be fixed with an IOS upgrade but I don't have any confidence that it will be addressed anytime soon and in the mean time I have a brand new $624 iPad that I use almost exclusively at home that keeps dropping the wifi connection. I'd rather pay the $78 to upgrade to a more modern router that supports the new 802.11AC standard and also keeps my iPad connected.
Just of the phone with the senior advisor assigned to the support case I opened to the problem. Answered a bunch more detailed questions that were said to come from the engineering team as they work to resolve the issue. Mostly just more details about the configuration of the networks where I've experienced the issue. And frustratingly, some of the questions were again ones I've already answered.
Anyway, he current status at least according to my senior advisor is that they (Apple engineering) are aware of the issue, are aware that it affects more than just me and are working on resolving the issue. However there is currently no timeline as to when such resolution might be available. If and when engineering provides an update to my advisor, she will pass that along to me.
WIsh it was a better update, but isn't at all surprising either.
Arrogance????
My router is very very smart : It's only set up "incorrectly" for an iPad Air2. My iPad2, my wife's iPad2 , her iPhone 4s and my iPhone 5s all work just fine at 60 but when I use my iPad Air2 (with other programs loaded like Angry Birds, as shown above) it slows right down from 60 to less than 1 Mbps.
