iPad Air 2 WiFi Issues

I'm having WiFi connectivity issues on my new iPad Air 2 (WiFi only). I'm having to turn WiFi off and on to reset my connection. Restarting and restoring hasn't fixed the issue.

So this blog ha been going for two years and still no fix.

come on Apple step up to this issue. It's a real pain.

Regardless of any "Solution" posted here, this doesn't change the fact that there is a problem with iPad Air 2 wifi connection. If a router works with all other hardware devices except the iPad Air 2 then the problem is with iPad Air 2 not the router.

Apple should address this problem and fix their hardware or software.

My wife has a new iPad Air 2 and she is not having any problems with wifi connection.

None whatsoever, wifi works great with no drops or disconnects.

I think all apple iPad Air 2's are manufactured the same.

My wifi router is an Asus RT-AC68U and I have her iPad using the 5GHz mode

What router model do you have?

I have a reason to believe the problem others are having with wifi connections is with the router.

As I posted before my iPad Air 2 had issues with wifi speed in my place, i also tested in my friend place and same symptoms... while all other devices are fine.

both of us have routers in G standard. I visited 2 iSpots and tested on their wifi - it was all fine in both places. One of iSpots had apple AC router second one some fancy linksys router in N standard. I started to think that issue is with G standard networks so I found my previous router that was produced in 2005 - linksys wrt54gc just to test another device and confirm my theory..... But it works fine... iPad Air 2 speed is fine as other devices. Someone already posted here that this model os working for him. If i test again with dlink dir 600 issue is back.


after all tests and reading multiple posts and forum I start to beelive that there is an underlying issue that apple engeniers need to troubleshoot and find solution. Hope they read those forums and see what we are sharing here...

I really don't understand the problems you people are having on your iPad Air 2's

Logic would tell me that if you are correct, and there's an underlying issue with apple iPad Air 2's, then my wife's iPad Air 2 would also be having the same underlying issues.

But she's not..... she is not having any issues with her new Air 2 and wifi.

Something here does not fit right. Why is her Air 2 wifi working and yours is not?

Hey everyone who reads this. I had the same problem and I might have figured it out for a lot of people last night. What you need to do is go to your wifi in settings and click on the little ℹℹ icon on the right of your network. After that make sure your DNS is the same as your router IP address. That should work.

Wow, all of these useless replies with the new posters NOT reading previous replies. I'm removing notifications to this thread as there is no answer in sight.


Although, I did swap routers from a wireless "N" to a new wireless "AC" and connections are much better & stable but not perfect. I still believe this is an iOS hardware or iOS software issue. Just remember when you do take your iPad out, most likely you WILL be connecting to a wireless "N" router.

It is apple. I have been following this post. I clicked the link in an email I received because I am following this post. I logged in once I arrived here on page 34. Then when I click on next page, I get logged out. I am on my mac mini. I logged in again and each time I select next page >, or actually click on 35, it goes to that page, but logs me out. Now why would that happen?

It must be something to do with certain routers and Apple. I have a mobile WiFi which my iPad Air2 refuses to connect to but my Apple laptop connects to no problems and I have tried a lot of different things. However I have no problem using the iPad Air2 at home with my home Wifi router. Both WiFis are approximately the same age. It's got to be some sort of glitch with the iPad. All I know is it's extremely annoying as I can't use the iPad for what I bought it for.


Apple you really need to sort this out as you are putting a lot of people off your products, especially at a time when Android is now so good. The only reason I bought this thing was because I have everything else Apple at home. That can easily be changed.

After dealing with this problem myself for a few weeks now. I've found many forums with people having the same problem. I finally took my iPad in to the apple store. They said that my brand new fils router is no good and that that must be why this is happening. I role him I just updated it to the latex one. He also acted like this is the first time he's heard of this just like the tech support guy on the phone and his manager did which is complete bs. So I spent another $220 on an apple router on top of the $850 for the iPad and went home. Setup the new router...and did a clean install. All the other devices in the house , PC, iMac, Kindle iPad 2 and two iPad 4's worked fine but the new iPad air 2 still kept loosing wifi. So I took it back and they gave me a new one which so far is working fine. They obviously have a bunch of iPad floating around that are defective and they are all trained to act like they have no idea what the **** is wrong. Wasted many hours of my time and gas money dealing with this crap. Wish they would just have told me when I first called that some have issues and to come exchange it. Don't be quick to be smug with the people that have been dealing frustratingly with this issue because yours didn't have this problem. I really dfo believe apple knows about the issue and is denying it for whatever legal reason.
