iPad Air 2 WiFi Issues
I'm having WiFi connectivity issues on my new iPad Air 2 (WiFi only). I'm having to turn WiFi off and on to reset my connection. Restarting and restoring hasn't fixed the issue.

So this blog ha been going for two years and still no fix.
come on Apple step up to this issue. It's a real pain.
After dealing with this problem myself for a few weeks now. I've found many forums with people having the same problem. I finally took my iPad in to the apple store. They said that my brand new fils router is no good and that that must be why this is happening. I role him I just updated it to the latex one. He also acted like this is the first time he's heard of this just like the tech support guy on the phone and his manager did which is complete bs. So I spent another $220 on an apple router on top of the $850 for the iPad and went home. Setup the new router...and did a clean install. All the other devices in the house , PC, iMac, Kindle iPad 2 and two iPad 4's worked fine but the new iPad air 2 still kept loosing wifi. So I took it back and they gave me a new one which so far is working fine. They obviously have a bunch of iPad floating around that are defective and they are all trained to act like they have no idea what the **** is wrong. Wasted many hours of my time and gas money dealing with this crap. Wish they would just have told me when I first called that some have issues and to come exchange it.
I MAY have resolved the WIFI dropping issue, at least with mine.
Products
iPad Air 2 64GB WiFi only
Apple Airport Extreme AC Router.
I had the same issues as everyone else. The WiFi would continually drop in and out. I looked into the configuration and decided to change the
channels on both the 2.4 and 5 Mhz bands. They were set to Automatic. I set them too manual and chose channels other then the ones that automatic had chosen
(I made note of what they were). I updated the router after making the changes and I have to say that I have not had the WiFi drop on my iPad once since then.
It has been nearly 24 hours now. I don't know if this will for everyone but it definitely seems to have done the trick for me.
Good Luck

Mine gets worse. The wifi keeps going on and off like all the time, even when I'm using the iPad. Sometimes it will go off and won't get back on until I go and manually do it. And when that happens I even have to enter my wifi password. Wasn't it supposed to connect automatically? That's sooooo frustrating. Hope Apple fixes that soon.
When the Wifi drops out does the Wifi button in settings turn off by itself? Or does the Wifi button still show as activated?
The WiFi button stays on when wifi drops out
I solved it too. Exchange your iPad for a new one. I tried everything for weeks and the problem would keep happening. I returned and exchanged it and everything is fine with the new one. They won't admit the problem on phone or in store but there must be a large batch of iPads with this problem.

iPad Air 2's wifi performance is a total disaster. If Apple doesn't fix it soon, I will have to switch to an Android tablet, which is something I never ever thought I would even consider. I'm not even saying what I will think and write about it if it turns out not to be fixable software update-wise.
I was ready to do the same thing going crazy trying to fix the issues for weeks. I ended up exchanging the ipad air 2 for a new one and haven't had any problems. They try to make you feel like your imagining the problems when there are obviously a batch of ipads out there that are messed up.
I took my iPad Air 2 to the Apple Store. I explained the WiFi issue, the guy noted the serial number and came back a minute later saying that they will just swap it for a new iPad. The issue appeared to be familiar to them, going by the way they handled everything. Looks like Apple are just quietly replacing these iPads that have some hardware weirdness going on.
I was worried I was the only one with issues, but I'm glad I'm not. I've restarted my iPad 4 times today and turned off and turned back on Wifi. I have the Air 2 16 gb WiFi model. We have a Linksys router, which may be the cause of the issue based on other people's comments. The router is over 10 years old and doesn't have the best connection but usually I can still watch Youtube videos in 720p, whereas I can't even watch in 144p at the moment. The issue just started a few days ago. My iPad came with iOS 8.0.2, and as soon as I set it up I upgraded to 8.1, and I've had no issues until now. Maybe the router's just being funky today (that happens sometimes) but I'm just glad other people are having the same issue.
So it's happened to me, too. i lost a wifi connection on my iPad air 2 that is less than a month old. I'm so disappointed. It's not the first time that I'm having serious issues with Apple products. I tried all the above fixes and nothing worked. My iPad sometimes sees nearby wifi networks and sometimes it doesn't. Sometimes sees only some of them. but it's never able to connect to any of them. other devices work (including my iPhone 6 and iMac) so it's not a router's fault.
Just change the iPad, this is the only solution.
I Wrote on here several times. Me and some others have gone through these problems every which way. YOU HAVE TO EXCHANGE THE IPAD! It's the only way.
