iPhone 6 Plus Dropped Calls (Verizon)

iPhone 6 Plus, 128GB, Space Gray

RESPONSES NEEDED!!

Ok. I have been having poor signal strength and 100's of dropped calls since upgrading from an iPhone 5 to iPhone 6 Plus. (Both the iPhone 5 and 6 Plus are on the Verizon network) I have spent over 50 hours dealing with Apple TSS, the Apple Store and Verizon TSS. I have done multiple network resets. I have performed numerous restores. I have set the phone up as new after every restore. I have had my SIM card replaced, I have had Verizon reprovision my line numerous times. And I even had my 6 Plus exchanged. My first iPhone 6 Plus shipped with IOS 8 and had these issues. When I upgraded to IOS 8.0.2 it did not help resolve the issues. Then when I upgraded to IOS 8.1 it still did not help resolve the issues. Nothing has solved my issues.

My wife does not seem to be having these issues with her iPhone 6 Plus, 128GB, Silver. I am unsure if she is not having the issue because she travels a the same short distance day to day. I travel primarily about a 150 mile radius around Atlanta on a day to day basis which may explain why I am having these issues and she is not.

I am seeing a lot of threads in the Apple forums as well as the Verizon forums where people are complaint of these same issues. Verizon admits that they are

receiving numerous complaints from iPhone 6 customers having these issues. Apple states I am an isolated case.

Ok. I know this may sound a like an odd question but I wonder if this problem is iPhone color specific. I am not sure what materials go into the coating of the iPhone 6, I am not sure if it is a metallic powder coat or some other process, I doubt it is just painted. My wives iPhone 6 Plus is Silver and it seems she is not having these issues. It also appears that not all iPhone 6 customers are having these issues. I have noticed that some people having these issues state they have a space gray model (Like I do). I do not remember seeing any post about someone having a Silver or Gold iPhone 6 having these issues.

Thank you

Just seeing this post after searching for the SAME issue around the net. I think it might be a combination (deadly) between the latest Apple update and something with Verizon. Did not have any issues with Iphone 4 or the Iphone 5s and I live in a metro area (RVA).

After looking at all the trials and tribulations, I looked at my bars because since I have had (emphasis) very reliable service in the past, who needed to? I noticed with LTE Data Only , I was down to two bars, in my home office, normally getting four or five all the time. I turned LTE off - no data only, no voice and data. Bars went up to four IMMEDIATELY. Will keep this setting on for a couple of weeks and see what happens. It's especially frustrating talking to a business contact via bluetooth and having the call dropped (or seemingly dropped - it comes back some of the time).

Good luck with yours. Mine => Iphone 6 + 128 GB. Loving the Iphone.. now if we can just get the "phone" part working...

If you witnessed that kind of change is service when turning off LTE, I suggest that you report that to Verizon. If they have deployed LTE in your area, then there is an issue in the area where you are using the phone. I'm glad you were able to get a fix by removing LTE, but I do know that both Verizon and AT&T have been working on their LTE networks, and there have been issues. The change for Verizon from CDMA to LTE has been a little difficult in some markets.

I just got the iphone 6s and it *****! as far as the phone part of it. I have to go outside and stand in the middle of the street and even then it drops the call! I traded it for a cheap flip phone I had for years. Wish I still had that phone. It never dropped a call and I could call from anywhere inside. *** is it with Apple that they put out such a POS! Oh, ABW, my wife's does the same thing and she is mad as ****!

I am wondering if you have had any luck solving this problem. I have been through the exact same thing...done ALL the things you have done and nothing works....and on top of that if someone puts me on hold I get disconnected. I had a 5s and never had this problem...I am totally disgusted...and just invested in a new ipad and iwatch...btw..mine is silver so I don't think the color matters.

Switching your settings to LTE - Data Only is not a solution and doesn't jive with the comments I see posted. If it was a setting then we would be able to turn the issue on and off for everyone by following this method. It looks like some phones work and some don't. If you look at it as a "what isn't it" approach, the only thing left on the white board is the phone. We are currently having this issue in our house hold. My wife has a 6 plus gold 16gb. She has problems every day and has voiced them to me loudly but there is no know solution to the problem. I myself had a 5s silver 16gb that had some issues. I now have a 6s 64gb which doesn't drop calls often but will periodically loose service while on the call even though I had four bars of LTE service right before the call came in (or if I made the call). I have been a loyal apple customer for many years now. Since the release of the 6 and the lack of quality I have seen, I most likely will have my wife switch to android.

You're responding to a post I made almost two years ago (and taking it out of context). At that time, I was responding to someone who had been told to change their settings but who had mistakenly turned LTE off completely. I explained they only needed to change it to Data Only. At the time of the original posting, doing that did, in fact, help some people. Those issues have long since been resolved. Problems that people are currently having no doubt have a different cause as VoLTE is long out of beta.
