iPad air 2 pop noise

My iPad Air 2 randomly has a "Pop Noise" out of the speaker. it happens randomly about once or twice a day when touching the screen or pressing a button. Has anybody else experienced this issue? Could it be a software issue or has it more likely to do with the hardware?

I Am very sorry to hear that Apple is being difficult about this hardware issue. But if you send the iPad Air 2 to Apple using Apple Care they should help as long as the description of ALL the issues are listed... I have one question thou? Did the popping noise start as soon as you bought it or did it just start doing it? The reason I ask is because all my iPad exchanges exhibited the popping and other glitchy stuff out of the box and when I returned mine the final time the techs admitted it was a harware issue and they also said that the first two Inreturned were hardware too. I received a follow up call weeks later telling me that it was a good time to up grade. I went back to the store and bought two more and they seem to be working just fine. I do not know the policies in New Mexico but I do know that Apple Care should help regarding you issue Regardless. I hope you well with getting your device fixed.

IN addition other bug fixes. i wonder why they did not up grade the mini with the new processor and boost the RAM to 2GB? Maybe that will be a spring trelease. I took back the two IPad Air 2's I just bought And I am going to wait until next year before upgrading.

Cant you you do the same? Because this is not software or at least the popping noise with all my iPads was hardware. It had nothing to do with the speakers, they simply said the speaker were fine but there was a hardware issue and directed me to another alternative.

They combine patches where possible... my keyboard is no longer popping up sideways, which is nice if it lasts.

Apple hasn't seen fit to publish the issues fixed in this patch.

Edited: because the release does say bug fixes. The only specifically listed fix was for Ringtones. And it's yet to be determined if the issues some of you are having are software or hardware.

Both my Laptop speakers and Wireless bluetooth speaker make the same "pop" when turned on/ or audio input is connected. Pretty sure this is normal for some speaker types like the ones in the Air 2...

I guess it certainly could be, but I can tell you none of mine make any popping sounds on startup. Not my Air 2, not my laptop and not my Bluetooth speakers.

IIt's a defectiv... I had the same problem with mine, during the genius consulting they decide exchanged for a new one, and the new one is showing the same problem plus brightness problem with literally 3 Spotlight black on the left side when the brightness decrease. First ever apple product that im having issue. I'm an apple consumer from 1994. Very disappointed. "Steave we sincerely miss you."

take it back if you are not happy Im sure they will exchange it, but can we stop the 'Steve' thing. People forget the iPhone 4 came when he was alive with the signal dropping problem, and he told us we were holding it wrong! Steve did not oversee every part of production and you cant say if he was here today this issue would not happen either. Its completely irrelevant to your issue.

I've had the random pop/crack effect now over the 5 days I've had my Ipad Air 2 (week 40 build). Triggered by opening an app or putting a cursor ready to type in a search bar. I have been able to force the effect by just repeatedly entering and deleting a cursor in a search bar on various apps (for eg if you have the new Ebay app and touch the search bar and then tap to one side to remove the cursor and back to the search bar repeatedly you should be able to trigger the effect). There are some similar examples of this on YouTube. But of course in day to day use it just happens randomly. From my experience the loudness of the noise remains the same regardless of whether you have the Air 2 on mute or sound activated. Also, in my case anyway it does appear to occur more frequently at higher charge levels(above 80%).

I've been through the troubleshooting with tech support, including a full factory restore. So I guess the next step is to get it replaced and hope the replacement doesn't do the same thing. I've wasted too much time already with this issue.

But it would be nice if Apple by this time at least worked out whether it was hardware or software related or even acknowledge the issue(one of the techs I spoke to said that although he hadn't come across it before, the symptom did suggest hardware related).
