Ok, problem possibly-fixed: just disable the WiFi Calling feature. T-Mobile probably updated their blob without telling anyone and s**t hit the fan - bad T-Mobile!
really!? how did you figure it out???
Thank you so much! Hope this does it!
Awesome thanks!
Wish I had read this before calling T-Mobile! Just had a long talk with them. They hadn't heard of the problem so just told me to sync backup (I do it locally on my computer, not iCloud) and then do a phone erase and reset. I'm in the middle of that now. Probably will take 45 minutes.
Crap, it still started happening againg after re-enabling WiFi Calling. I'm going to keep WiFi Calling disabled for a while and see if it still occurs. T-Mobile you ********!
Thanks! My reboot happened when I turned on my WiFi this morning.
This is from my reddit post:
I am an iPhone 6 on T-Mobile as well and what I did was delete everything and reinstalled my iPhone from a backup from yesterday.
I think Geophyzzer might have the solution. He stated:
So, T-Mobile recommends:
#2 might be the answer. What I noticed from my backup is that I lost my text messages from today. I have not been having any resets since I reinstalled it. My phone was perfectly fine this morning (streaming from TuneIn Radio, Tinder, Outlook). But when my friend started texting me, one text set it into the reset spiral.
Has anyone else been texting today before the restarting began occuring?
Try deleting your texts from today and do a hard reset and see what happens.
maybe I'll leave mine off then. Currently reaming tmobile out on Facebook while talking to a rep. can't call from my phone... I'm sure it would restart
if #2 is the solution I'll throw my phone away
Do we know when this will be fixed? I need wi-fi calling since I live in a dead zone for all carriers. Thanks!
Me too.
I went about 40 minutes with no crash with WiFi Calling disabled. I just re-enabled it to see if the problem is still there.
Still crashing/rebooting after re-enabling WiFi Calling.
I officially launched my complaint to @TMobileHelp, you can follow it here: https://twitter.com/nd_ciobanu/with_replies
Yes, same problem with 6Plus. MacRumors states that the problem may be with a silent T-Mobil update. As of yet, no information on T-Mobil web site.
They replied to my complaint tweet with a DM saying they're working with Apple on a fix. No ETA.
