In the past I've been able to add lyrics to my music in iTunes and then see those lyrics in the music app after syncing my iPhone or iPod... There is an option in my setting to view lyrics which I have turned on and yet I can't see the lyrics I've added in the music app, how do I make it so I can see those lyrics?
Tapping on album art should show lyrics for the song.
Trust me I've tried that about a hundred times now... Its worked in the past in previous softwares but for some reason in iOS 8 I haven't had any luck.
I'm having the same problem. I did something accidentally, like put the phone in my pocket, and the lyrics appeared! I'm like this is great! Since then I've been unable to repeat the experience
mine is working i have ios 8.1......
What are you doing to see the lyrics in the Music app in iOS 8.1?
HEy mate, i looked into it for you, go into settings-music and make sure 'Lyrics and Podcast info is turned on. you shoudl then be able to single click on the album art.

It must be some problem with ios 8. They have to fix it!!! I've tried everything but still doesn't work!! Used to be fine in the previous versions but not anymore :-//
It works fine for me, I just tap the album art and I get the lyrics I entered in iTunes on my computer. Try a reset, hold the power button and home button until you see the apple then let go. I don't know if this will help but it can't hurt.
I tried that too, but nothing!
I can see the lyrics in all my old songs (no problem with that) in Iphone 6 plus but not the lyrics that I have added after iOS8! I have installed all the latest versions of course, did restart , reset, connect my phone to pc again and again for sync with Itunes but still nothing :-(

After syncing, the AAC had lyrics displayed after single tapping the album art. The MP3 goes to Rating after tapping album art. Not sure about any other music formats since all I have are MP3 and AAC. Uncool since I only have a handful of AAC and thousands of MP3.

I've removed the AAC song from my iphone and now lyrics are displayed on all my MP3's. I have no idea why or what happened but I suggest doing what I did:
- convert a song to AAC
- sync the song to your iphone
- test/view lyrics on AAC and other songs
- delete the AAC
- test/view lyrics on other songs
Not too sure if this helps but when you click the 'Get Info'....then go through the tabs until the 'lyrics' open up. If you right-click in the space where you should be typing(or pasting) the lyrics...then at the the bottom of these options is one which says..'Open IME'...(or close IME depending on what the previous setting was). Once i 'Opened IME'....typed/pasted lyrics then clicked 'OK'....my lyrics then started showing up. Through trial and error....they dont seem to show up when the 'IME is closed'. Not too sure why or what this option is but it just seems to work for me. I only clicked on it as i was running out of options. Anyway...i know this is a few months late...but I have only just run into this problem....hope it helps.
Please ignore my above post regarding Open IME.....!!! I had a WAV version of a song and a MP3 version of the song. It allowed me to add lyric ONLY when it was the MP3 version. When i was changing the IME it must have coincided with me changing format of song....hence why I thought it was IME!
Advice to other users.....CHECK WHICH FILE YOU ARE DRAGGING INTO ITUNES....AND DON'T DO IT WHEN TIRED!! I have multiple versions of the songs and I didn't bother checking which was which. I now realise I could have saved myself a good few hours instead of messing about..lol!
The other thing I did learn is that once you add lyric and click 'ok'...then you cannot alter it. I had to delete song from playlist...re-add...then add lyrics again. Not too sure why.... maybe a glitch...or maybe I'm just too tired.
Anyway...I think the problem lies with the format of song you import into i-tunes as mentioned in a post above.
