Iphone 5s Family Shared calendar not getting notifications

Hello Everyone!

I'm having a strange issue. My 6 and my wifes 5s are both set up to use Family Sharing. We have a shared calendar we both use. When my wife adds/deletes an event from her 5s, I get a nice notifcation and it shows up in my "Notifcations" bar. However, when I add/delete an event on this same calendar from my 6, my wifes 5s never gets a notification. Nothing in the notification bar and no little number on the app icon. However, if you go into the calendar app, my changes show up just fine. It always seems to be in sync but it never shows a notification. Both devices are on 8.1.

Things I've looked at:

- In the calendar app, I go to edit calendar and "Show Changes" is set to on as well as "Event Alerts"

- In settings->notifications->Calendar, "Allow Notifications" is set to on with it set to display 5 alerts. Also, if I go into shared calendar changes in this menu, Everything is checked and it is set to display in the banner.

- In settings->Mail, Contacts, Calendars the default calendar is set to "Family"

Does anyone have any ideas? Its really starting to drive us nuts. I'll change an event in the calendar and my wife wont know until its already too late. Any help is appreciated!!

I'm not getting ANY calendar invite notifications for any of my accounts (not just shared) Sent Apple feedback.

Same here. Suddenly stopped getting any shared calender notifications on my iPhone 6+ (iOS 8.1). Same phone and shared calendar as wife, but she gets all the notifications as expected.

Same situation on desktop OSX Yosemite. No notices.

Having the same issue and have reported it to Apple. hopefully this will be fixed soon or I will have to find another calendar to use.

I have updated just now all my family devices to ios 8.1.2 and now also my wife receives notifications!

Yay!! Ours started working correctly after the 8.1.2 update today also!! 🙂

Unfortunately, I didn't have the same luck as you folks who found the miracle cure updating to 8.1.2. After updating with much hope, regrettably, we still have the same problem. One phone gets all shared calendar notification, and the other gets absolutely none. Interestingly, however, they switched! My phone, which for 5-6 weeks has gotten none, now gets them perfectly. My wife's phone, which has never had a problem, now gets none!

Apple, please help. This is ridiculous.

Update worked for me. If you still have trouble, try unsubscribing from all shared calendars and try subscribing again. Good luck.

Sorry for the ignorance, but by "unsubscribe", is that as simple as unchecking the shared calendar under "calendars", hitting "done", then inserting the check mark back? Or do I need to do something else? Thanks for he response.

That's one way. You can also delete the shared calendar and then have the person who created the calendar send a new invite to subscribe.

My notifications magically started working again on Tuesday 9th Dec. Neither of us has yet updated to 8.1.2 so I'm guessing there was finally a fix applied fro this problem.

Ha, yes! It's working here also.

But...I still don't get it on the sound alerts. Now, we both do get a (badge) notification of each change. This notification shows up in the stock agenda app. But sometimes we both get also a sound alert and a message in our notification screen in case someone added something or changed in the shared agenda. But, sometimes we both do not get any sound alert and only a notification in the stock app (which we do not use...)

Very strange. Or is this normal? Does anyone recognize this? Notification settings on both devices are the same.
