Anyone with a Crucial MX100 SSD and problems with Mavericks?

Hi there.

I carbon copy cloned my ex Intel X25M G2 160gb SSD to my new Crucial MX100 512gb SSD and installed it in my mac mini Late 2012 (i7 2.6ghz).

Never experienced before, now the system freezing up and getting the "spinning ball of death" for almost 10 seconds (maybe more) and than the system becomes normal. After few time (don't know maybe two minutes, maybe twenty, it depends) again freezing up and getting the "spinning ball of death".

Are there anyone with a Crucial MX100 SSD that experience my problem? Solution? Apple Hardware Test on the mac mini say 'no hardware problem at all' (I went for the long test during the night). Maybe the clone process had some unknown problem even though I did it many times in the past and never experienced something similar.

Do I have to re-install to have the answer? What do you think?

Regards,

Claudio.

Same issue here: I equipped a 2011 iMac with the MX100 256GB and created a FusionDrive. Often there were System-Freezes for 10s or more, especially when visiting large Sites in Safari (maybe many small cache-Data?) or during Time-Machine Backup.

My MX100 was built in a MacMini before with the same issues.

I updated to Crucial-Firmware to MU02, you can find an .iso-Image at crucial's Website. Just burn this iso to a CD-R (e.g. use Disk Utility (Festplattendienstprogramm in german)) and reboot your computer from this CD-R. It will start an ugly-looking linux-system and find your Crucial-Disk with older Firmware and will update the firmware automatically then. After success it asks you to reboot.

You can find out the current firmware of your Drive in  -> About this Mac -> "System Information" (or something equal, in German it says "Systeminformationen"). On the left click on "SATA/SATA Express", chose your Crucial-Disk at the top and in the information-pane for the disk you find "Version", that says MU01 (if your drive has the old firmware) or MU02 (if you use the current firmware).

I did the update yesterday and think, the problems are gone - so far.

I installed a Crucial M550 (512GB) in my Mac mini Mid-2011, and under Yosemite I have the spinning ball. It seems this started happening in recent times, and I don't remember it did it in the year I've used it before.

Diagnostic utilities, as well as the System Profiler, show no errors. However, the profile shows that TRIM is not supported (but this drive is supposed to have its own system, alternative to TRIM).

Should I start to worry?
