iOs 8.1 Mail app keeps asking for iCloud password

Since the update to iOs 8.1 i have a problem with my mailbox.

Every time i want to create a new mail, it asks me for my iCloud password.

This happens on my iPhone (6) and iPad (Air) while im in my iCloud inbox, Gmail inbox, or just the general overview.

Whenever i press the create new mail icon it will ask for my iCloud password.

- When i give the iCloud password (correct one) it wont ask for it again in the next 15 mins

- When i dont give the iCloud password (cancel) i can just send mails but it will ask for the password whenever i create a new mail.

What i did:

- Remove iCloud account > reboot > Add iCloud account > didnt solve the problem

- Remove Keychain > didnt solve the problem

- Remove iCloud photo's > didnt solve the problem

- Remove iCloud mail > still asks for the iCloud password.

- Remove iCloud > solves the problem but i dont want to remove iCloud

- Disabled all iCloud options, (mail, contacts, etc) > didnt solve the problem

- Disabled 2 step verification > didnt solve the problem

Everytime i want to create a new mail, u see the phone/pad use the "syncing icon" 3x 5 seconds, maybe a link here?

Anyone else with any ideas that i can try?

Got a new iPhone from the apple store last week (iPhone6) - since then this come up everytime I try to send and email or randomly when Im viewing photos.
It's also removed my 'check spelling' option randomly overnight and my keyboard shortcuts just wont sync via iCloud.

So annoying.

All the steps people have suggested just do NOT work!

Hey everyone -

obviously, I'm here because I have the same issue. However, I think I'm starting to understand what's going on. I checked out some other sources, and it seems as though it might be because the majority of us started experiencing this in iOS 8.x. I know that when I upgraded my phone to iPhone 6, I did a restore, which carried all of my settings from my iPhone 4S, even though the phone was on iOS 8 out of the box. It seems as though Apple is urging everyone to log out of iCloud, and logging back in to 'reset' the switch (if you will). Check out the linkage below:

If you're repeatedly asked to sign in to iCloud using two-step verification - Apple Support

So, in short - log out of iCloud. (Mail, Contacts, Calenders --> iCloud -->Sign Out). To log back in, go to Settings main, iCloud, Sign in.

Apple is aware of this glitch, especially if you upgraded to iOS 8 from iOS 6 or earlier.

This solved my problem!

Constantly getting a pop up box on my phone asking "Sign In to iCloud". When I enter the Apple ID password, it is never recognized. I have been prompted to change it, and have done so many times. The new password will work on the computer, yet it is still "incorrect", and the same box pops up repeatedly. Eventually I get a box saying "Incorrect Apple ID Password - If you have forgotten your password, you can reset it." Back th

Some people on this community have suggested deleting iCloud from the phone, but I am not allowed to do that as it will not accept the password I enter. Re-starting the phone does not change a thing. Totally stymied about this since I got the phone in September. I appeal to the knowledgeable people out there in the hopes that someone can solve this problem, as I can see that I am not the only one affected.

Thanks,

Adele

I think, there is another Problem in combination with this bug.. go to "Settings"> privacy> Location" and check out, if the button "Location" is on or off.

Is it "on", try to turn it off. on my phone Displays a message " Connection to the Location-Server failed" Try again later.

I think, this isn´t normal. This bug comes in combination with the "icloud Password bug"

Right...Ask Apple. You mean ask the 'genius' kid they hired to sell iphones at an Apple Store?

The reason people come here, is because collectively, we as consumers are likely to find solutions faster - especially when we offer advice to one another. Telling Elease to ask Apple, is essentially telling her that these forums are pointless, which begs the question: Why are YOU here?

If you can't offer a decent reply, then why say anything at all?

Furthermore - I am STILL having the same issue as Elease - and I'm losing my mind. Every time I go to compose a new email, I get prompted to re-enter my iCloud password. And sometimes, it's populated my username with an email address that I haven't used since 1998?!?!

Here's one hint that might make sense to someone - When I started up my Iphone 6 for the first time, I chose a Restore, so that I could just 'restore' all of my apps and settings from my iPhone 4S. As with a lot of my older iPhones, I leave them powered up, and docked in other rooms of the house for alarm clocks/music/etc. iCloud is turned on for these, which shouldn't matter, but might. Who knows.

Ill keep checking in with this forum to see if anyone finds THE solution. Unitl then TJBUSMC, try to play nice.

After reading everyone's post and trying everything out I finally fixed the problem. My employee had a capital letter in his Apple ID email. I tried to find a solution to change his email to all lower case but could not do that on the phone or through iTunes on our computers. Basically this is what I did to fix his problem.(Also his phone is a 8.1.3)

1. Did an iCloud backup. Settings>iCloud>BACKUP

2. Did a complete reset on his phone. Settings>General>Reset>Erase All Content and Settings

3. When prompted to enter Apple ID, I made sure that his email was all lowercase.

After everything went through its usually setup. I checked the emails and it worked.

Hope this helps.
