iOs 8.1 Mail app keeps asking for iCloud password

Since the update to iOs 8.1 i have a problem with my mailbox.

Every time i want to create a new mail, it asks me for my iCloud password.

This happens on my iPhone (6) and iPad (Air) while im in my iCloud inbox, Gmail inbox, or just the general overview.

Whenever i press the create new mail icon it will ask for my iCloud password.

- When i give the iCloud password (correct one) it wont ask for it again in the next 15 mins

- When i dont give the iCloud password (cancel) i can just send mails but it will ask for the password whenever i create a new mail.

What i did:

- Remove iCloud account > reboot > Add iCloud account > didnt solve the problem

- Remove Keychain > didnt solve the problem

- Remove iCloud photo's > didnt solve the problem

- Remove iCloud mail > still asks for the iCloud password.

- Remove iCloud > solves the problem but i dont want to remove iCloud

- Disabled all iCloud options, (mail, contacts, etc) > didnt solve the problem

- Disabled 2 step verification > didnt solve the problem

Everytime i want to create a new mail, u see the phone/pad use the "syncing icon" 3x 5 seconds, maybe a link here?

Anyone else with any ideas that i can try?

To all that have been receiving a pop-up request for your apple id password when trying to send an email......

This problem started when I updated my I pad to 8.1.1. The sad thing is that No one at apple seems to know how to resolve this issue! I have been at the apple store for the last 4 days NO NONE THERE has a clue, been on the phone with a level "4 tech" that cant resolve the issue! I am at my wits end.

I read and article in the last week or so regarding Apple ISO being hacked http://www.huffingtonpost.com/news/apple-hack/

This seems to me to be a software issue because Everything that can be done with Ipad had been done by me and everyone at the apple store as well as tech support and the issue continues to pledge my Ipad! Why is there not even 1 apple tech fixing this issue? Obviously there are a ton if apple product owners having this issue that are very angry about this?

Just give me a pad, pen and a stamp! Seems to be the best way to resolve this issue.

If I get this resolved be sure I'll be the first to post the answer! Apple better be sending me a check for tens of thousands when I fix this for them.....

Hi SammyD80,

As you said, you obviously have to enter your password as normal including uppercase and lowercase letters.

However, the fix is to use all lowercase letters for your AppleID Username

Lots of people on this thread were entering their AppleID usernames with some uppercase letters. Once they changed to all lowercase for the AppleID username and then entered their password as normal the password popup completely stopped.

This has affected the 150+ phones of my work which all share the same Apple ID for FindMyiPhone purposes only. We cannot give out the password, so it has been a major inconvenience as all of our staff have to come back into our central office to have us fix the phones. Originally we were just entering in the iCloud password in the pop-up prompt. That seemed to do the trick, but after a week or so we had the same people report they were having the issue again. A subsequent call to our local Apple store business department brought about the suggestion of completely removing the iCloud account and adding it back in. We have been doing that for a couple weeks now and have not had any repeat problems.

As a suggestion to other IT departments using MDM to manage their phones, do not enter in passwords for iCloud, exchange, etc. in any pop-up password prompts. Go straight to the location in the Settings app and put the passwords in there in their appropriate section (iCloud, Mail, etc).

Very disappointed in this whole situation. We just had our giant roll-out with a lot of excitement for switching all of our staff over to iPhones. Now we have to roll them all back in.
