I can't find join tracks option in iTunes 12
With the CD in view, and the tracks in ascending order, select two or more tracks. Click Options near the top right. Join CD Tracks is the last entry.

That's the weird thing, it's not greyed out - it's just gone period. Worked last week fine. The system has been a bit slow as well. Don't know if that's related and iTunes got corrupted or something. Without that function iTunes is useless to me. I use it only for audiobooks.
Thanks for responding:)
Check for the chevron over the left-most column of numbers. Click this heading if needed. Then select two or more consecutive tracks. The option should be there. In the current build the option is suppressed, rather than greyed out, when it cannot be used.

tt2,
YESYES YES YES Oh my gosh, thank you so very very very much. It worked. You are the best!!!!!!!! I was getting a little depressed over this. You made my day!!!!!!!
You're welcome. 😀

I have done all those things: my tracks are in ascending order and I choose all tracks. This function just quit in the middle of my importing a series of CDs. It had worked up until then. I then tried installing then newest version of iTunes and it still doesn't work!
Does it look like hhgttg27's image, in particular the chevron in the loop attached to item 1? Sorting on track number, which achieving the same order, will not enable the Join CD Tracks option,

OK; that did it! I had clicked the column above the track names, which also showed the little chevron pointing up. What a stupid and obscure way to control that function. Apple help does not mention that distinction.
Thanks, tt2.

You're welcome. 🙂

Thanks so much!!
Thanks! I used your advice last year, and today, when it disappeared, I used your advice again. Thank you!
Apparently "join tracks" only shows up before you import the CD not after the CD is imported. That was my experience.
Ok, not as bad as I first thought, but you do at least have to put the CD back in the drive to even see the option.
Yes, it cannot be done after the fact with the media already in the library, it can only be used with consecutive tracks on a CD before you commence ripping it.

here are instances where the "Join Tracks" does not appear. Even if you are seeing the tracks from your CD in order, you will not see this option when you select tracks, and click the Options menu UNLESS… you first click the column heading above the track numbers. So here’s the procedure:
1. Click the column header above the track number (This column heading is blank).
2. Select the contiguous tracks you with to combine.
3. Click “Options”
4. Click “Joing CD Tracks”
Hope this helps.
