I agreed to install Shop Mate from some reason and now it's making life miserable.
How do I uninstall it? Where is it, how do I find it, and how can it be removed?

I got exactly this problem within a few days of getting my brand new Mac and I didn't even get to choose whether or not to install it. I went into Finder then Applications, went into list view and there was a folder called MyShopMate sitting there. I moved it to trash and I haven't had the problem since.
How can I uninstall Shop Mate?
