iPhone 6 plus messages app freezing crashing iOS 6.1

same here! it crashes, lags, erases sent messages... My wife is also running ios8.1 on an iPhone 6 and doesn't have this problem despite hacing 1.3gb in messages to my 1.1. What gives? How do we fix this? I haven't had the messages app run smoothly since getting this iphone!

Sorry! Forgot to mention I have the regular iPhone 6 too! So I suspect it's an iOS thing!

Yes!!! I've been having the same problem since I got my 6 and it's sooo disappointing! I mean, this is like the most BASIC function of the phone, and I'm constantly having to close out the messaging app so that I can read or respond to texts!! I had hoped they'd fix it with the last update but for whatever reason, they didn't 😟

It appears that I can't stream spotify via bluetooth on the 6 Plus due to this issues and other apps are starting to have problems running smoothly. I truly hope Apple does something in the near future.

Are you (or anyone else having this issue) using the swype app instead of typing within' imessage? I was wondering if maybe a third party keyboard is causing my imessage to freeze and force a reboot to get it working again. Thank you.

I use the Swiftkey app and am having the same trouble on my 6 Plus. Like you, I wonder if it's not the 3rd party keyboard that's locking it up. I sure hope not because I love my Swiftkey keyboard.

I also use SwiftKey and just started having this issue on my iPhone 6. Also, I just got the phone new 3 days ago. It is very irritating and never had this issue with the other android phones I've used. Hope they fix it soon.

I'm having the exact same problem too with my iPhone 6 and I also have Swiftkey installed. Tried various things to fix it to no avail. Luckily my brother works for Swiftkey so I have sent him a message to see if he knows what's up. Will share any info I get back, if it is to do with the keyboard.

I'm having this issue again. When I say again, I mean this happened to me before and I went to the Apple store and they "fixed" my issue by backing it up from a reset. A complete factory reset, that was a pain but whateves. That fixed it. That was about 2 months ago. Since 4 days ago, slowly allllll of my apps started to crash again. More than ever. I can't even open apple maps. Pretty much all of my frequently used apps are crashing and its a nightmare. Is there another solution to this? I need some seriously help. Nothing like trying to make it to class and not knowing where you are going because you have no maps.
