iMessage Activation Problem in Iran

we have problem to activate the iMessage , FaceTime and new IOS 8 Feature in Iran , is there any solution ?

by the last announce of USA Department , the IT restriction is over of Iran , but we cant use the iMessage and FaceTime and any Phone number based services , in Iran .

I guess the +98 Country code is blocked by Apple , and according to last announce about finish of restriction in IT field and services for Iran , I think , Apple may review these restriction to bypass them .

please inform me about the situation and if there is any way to solve these problems .

Regards

Aka

The point you mentioned is exactly true, is there any chances that apple support team could read these and come up with a solution as you said like silent message or something like that? I don't think that process of activation will be a big deal if apple tries to activate imessage just like all other similar applications such as viber, whatsapp, telegram, etc.

as you know those applications get your activation request online and send you back a SMS containing your activation PIN number (or give you a call) and you can use that pin to activate your application.

Can anyone from apple hear us?

iMessage does use such a silent message system for activation. An SMS is sent to a number which confirms the activation. If, for some reason (e.g. SMS is disabled), iMessage won't activate. If you are not using the iPhone on an officially supported carrier, you may have trouble activating iMessage. There's nothing Apple can do about that.

iMessage and Facetime activation require sending an SMS message to a number in the UK. Apple partner carriers handle this message correctly. But there are no partner carriers in Iran, so you need to have International SMS enabled on your phone, and you will be charged for the message. The message is sent fairly frequently to re-authorize, so iMessage can get to be expensive where there is no partner carrier.

Lawrence, you are an encyclopedia of information!!! How you acquire such knowledge is beyond me.... I hope you are willing to help me when I migrate my iTunes Library to a new Windows 10 PC. I will create a new thread at the time.... Cheers. 😉

Apple is not here. This is a user to user support forum. The bans that your government have put in place are nothing that Apple has any control over. The restrictions are not imposed by Apple, they are simply implemented by Apple based on the requirements made by your government in order to sell any devices to you. You will have to take it up with them.
