will apple replace my slightly bent iphone 6?

I bought my iphone 6 about 1 month ago, and recently i notice it is a little bent.

Its not a big issue and the phone still works it just looks really weird and im worried it might get worse.

I didn't put the phone in my back pocket at all or try to bend it in any way so im pretty sure its not my fault.

If i take this to apple will they replace/fix my phone for free?

iPhone 6, iOS 8.0.2

Well if you wana compare apples to apples, in this case, your Honda would have a bend/crack in the chassis. And from normal use (not off roading) shortly after a year (Honda would have a five year warranty).

😁😁😁

but putting an iPhone in your pocket and sitting on it or bending it with +100 lbs force is not “normal” use.

Nice to see a nice legion of Apple defenders here regardless of what is wrong, you make the cult of Apple strong. If its neither defective nor non-normal use, why did Apple replace all of these bent phones free of charge? http://www.theverge.com/2014/11/7/7173451/my-name-is-dan-and-i-had-a-bent-iphone

There are countless other cases in THIS thread alone...

I never said I sat on it, in fact, had a case around my phone since day one. But my front jean pocket is a bit tight so I guess after time the metal started to bend. If that isn't 'normal use' not sure what is.

Any case, thanks for the support and thanks for the reply wadzee. I will find a way to resolve the issue somehow, this will be my last reponse.

Was not asking, original question was answered.

What city are you located in?

I have the same issue now, phone is out of warranty since early Oct. Apple refuse to replace it, I opened a claim with my credit card company but they're not replacing it either because they said the original hardware warranty would not cover it.

Philly_Phan started asking rhetorical questions:

My new Honda has a slightly bent front fender. Will Honda replace it for me?

Your link provides an anecdotal story about ONE bent iPhone that was replaced OVER A YEAR AGO. Amazing.

I found this thread after discovering my 9 month old iPhone 6 plus had a bend in the usual spot. I made a Genius Bar appointment but did not want to wait 4 days for the appointment so went to the store and waited. The Customer Service rep who added me to the wait list was somewhat obnoxious and told me that Apple's warranty did not cover physical damage and that it took 90 lbs of pressure to bend an iPhone 6 Plus. I assured him the phone had never see 90 lbs of force applied and that I would wait to see a Genius Bar rep. I am glad I did. As soon as I showed the Genius Bar rep my phone, he told me that it was covered under the warranty as long as there were not other signs of physical impact of damage. My phone has spent its entire life in a Military Drop Spec Case with a Tempered Glass Screen Protector and except for the bend was in perfect condition. I was given a New iPhone 6 Plus on the spot and sent on my way. I was glad that Apple stood behind its product and will continue to be a big supporter of their products because of the way they handled the proplem. Thanks to all those who posted helpful comments on this. It helped me get the problem resolved quick and painlessly. Good luck to any others that may experience the same issue.

You may be correct but I have yet to hear anyone complain that the Urban Armor Gear cases have causing their phones to bend. I have only removed my phone from its case 3 times in past 9 months but to be safe I probably will not remove the phone from the case again until it is time to upgrade the phone (only 9 more months). If I do find the need to remove the case again, I will do so from the bottom where the phone does not seem as prone to bend.

ALRIGHT. Let me get the record straight, as in, I'll give my story.

As I was playing with my iPhone 6 i noticed that the touch screen was way off, like, I would be scrolling and the screen would shake upon contact with touching it. So, I took off my Otter case (that I put on as soon as I took my iphone out of the box) and inspected it, low and behold it is bent. right below the sim card in fact. Me knowing that this was a christmas gift, I was really careful with it, also I have never broken an electronic, (glass, frame etc.) So this was a huge surprise to me.

I went to my nearest apple store and brought my broken phone with me. I went to one of the people at the "genius bar" and I asked what my options were. They said that;

1. I could talk to my provider (1000$ for replacement :O)

2. I could just pay 375$ CAD for a new phone

3. Pay for apple care+ and pay 180$ CAD

4. Or just use the phone and do nothing

I just chose the cheapest way out, and the safest, since apple care plus lasts 2 years, so if i make any other mistakes i can just bring my phone to the store.

So the next morning was a Wednesday. I called apple (at work) and waited about 10 minutes after being told for a 5 minute wait (it's alright i dont mind, just warning you guys the robot was lying. But "Don't worry be happy" by Bobby Mcferrin was playing so i didn't mind :3) Upon being greeted by the operator she was very nice in fact. she asked questions about my phone and I advised her that I was at work so I hung up.

Upon arriving home, I called with my home phone, I told them my name and they surprisingly remembered my dilemma. After talking, (no negotiating, i didn't persuade anyone) I found out I was eligible for Apple care plus. As I mentioned earlier It was a christmas gift and the person who gave this phone to me said they purchased it in November 2015, (as of now it is late January 2016) So i was very surprised i was eligible for it.

I will update though for My new phone. So stay tuned, for next week.
