Yep they replaced mine yesterday. As long as it has no other damage (i.e. cracked screen etc) they replace it.

You mean yours had no other damage and they replaced it.

I am in South Africa, and many friends suggested I move to an iphone. Loved it in the beginning. Then it suddenly stopped working while still under 1 year warrenty. Sent it in to our service provider and was told I had bent it. I have a hard, durable cover, never dropped it, no cracked screen etc etc, This is NOT what I expect from an Apple product! Anyone had any luck with getting these "definitely faulty"

Apple's policy is only to replace defective phones, not "definitely faulty" (quotes yours) phones. Anyone who has had a phone that isn't actually faulty replaced was lucky enough to get an exception. Don't count on it. Take some responsibility.

I went to apple and spoke to a manager and she told me that my bent iPhone was my problem and that I should assume my mistakes, and she also stated that I should research my products before buying. I have every single iPhone as of the iPhone 4. None of them bent and they were used the same way. My iphone 4s was dropped maybe 100 times and nothing broke. But because I placed my phone in my pocket it's my mistake.

Yes, that's correct.

Merely placing it in your pocket did not bend it.

I've just asked to apple care center, they said that my slightly bent iPhone will be replaced with another one but it doesn't come for free eventhough I still had my 1 year limitted warranty. I need to pay for the apple warranty price, Is this the same for all who has the same problem ?

That sounds like you are being charged for an out of warranty replacement. Since accidental damage, like blinding your iPhone, voids your warranty, an out of warranty replacement would be the only option Apple would offer you (or, if you had AppleCare+ you could use one of your two accidental damage claims for an reduced fee).

An out of warranty replacement from Apple always includes either a 90 day warranty, or it re-instates the remainder of your original device's warranty, whichever is the longer period.

This is an Apple standard service alternative for anyone who has voided their warranty for any reason. The only caveat of an out of warranty replacement is that you must still have a device to turn in to receive the replacement. The turned in device does not need to be functional but must be an essentially physically intact device (i.e.. the terms of OoW service say something about a device that is missing parts or is shattered into multiple pieces may not be elegible).

I had apple care. it was just over a year old, i had a similar problem where it was in my jeans front pocket. this according to my genius bar rep is normal use, placed it on a flat surface screen down and it would wobble on opposite corners.

free replacement due to defective device under normal use.

if i don't walk down the road with it in my pocket then i am surely enticing theft with it in my hand, which would mean my insurance would not pay out. its absurd to say it cant be in your pocket, you just need to apply common sense as my genius rep did.

I think that that's simply wonderful. I hope that he continues to enjoy it after it gets compromised.

I’ve had my 7 in an otter box since day 1 and mine is slightly bent! Apple made these phone too thin!

I have a 6 Plus and it just randomly stopped working. Apple is saying it was "bent" and damage on the circuit board. If I were you I would replace ASAP.
