FaceTime call will not rotate to landscape on Apple TV

I have been using FaceTime and AirPlay mirroring to put FaceTime calls on my living room TV via Apple TV for over 2 years. After the recent upgrade to iOS 8 and Apple TV the orientation is incorrect. I turn my iPhone to landscape orientation, but the video shows on the TV in portrait orientation, and the video is rotated 90 degrees. I believe this to be a bug in either the AppleTV update or iOS 8. Anyone else have this issue?

It's almost September 2016 and this problem is not fixed.

I have tried airplaying both my iPhone 6+ and my iPad 2 to Apple TV using the latest versions of all software. Once a call is received the Apple TV display of Facetime goes into portrait mode although all looks fine on the receiving phone or pad.

DOES APPLE LISTEN ... OR CARE? We should not be discussing "work-arounds". We paid for Apple devices and software. It's up to them to deliver fully working software. Have you ever seen a group of customers standing outside a shop trying to work out together how to fix the product they bought in the shop? Come on Apple. Let's get back to the quality that made you famous!

There was a time Apple really spent time making sure things worked well and seamlessly.

Now you can ask for a fix and two years later we are still asking.

Apple is definitely not the same place it once was.

You should have fixed this in a timely manner. Now people are jumping ship because of this and many other problems we are just so annoyed with but Apple seems not to care about.
