Security Concern: atos?

I just tried to start an app Bentos and I got a pop-up that said:

"atos needs to take control of another process for debugging to continue. Type your password to allow this."

As I don't know what this is I cancelled out and then immediately go the following:

"Developer Tools Access needs to take control of another process for debugging to continue. Type your password to allow this."

Again I have cancelled out as I have no clue what this or if it is safe.

Does anyone know what is. Unfortunately Bentos will not start until I press continue, so I am stuck until I am confident enough to proceed with it.

Bento is incompatible. Don't try to use it.

In Yosemite Bento works so use it but be warned that Apple development dumped it years ago and doesn't care. There are some conversion utilites to "help" move Bento to FIlemaker, but they're poor at handling nested tables.

That said there's an easy fix to end run the request. Your account needs admin privilege. like its the one you install OS with.

log into terminal and run:

sudo /usr/sbin/DevToolsSecurity --enable

Go back to the GUI and start Bento and no ATSO / Devtool requests anymore.

Docs implied that this shouldn't be an issue if you're already part of the

_developer
group (as I am).

but obviously some things just got missed in pre-Lion to Yosemite application changes be it in Bento, Xcode or OS.

Be warned this may open some security hole. But you are already running something like Symantec to CYA ,Right?

I had that atos screen too but just cancelled & Bento worked fine. My question is how do you all get Bento to synch with your iPhone? Mine hasn't been able to synch since I upgraded to Lion way back. Very frustrating! I'm now running Yosemite on a new Macbook Pro & would *love* to synch Bento again. I even tried a different data app but it's not Bento. Sniff.
