can't make cellular calls using mac but can receive them

I had this problem as well.

After I logout both my mac and iPhone,

and re-login with the same apple id but allow only one e-mail to receive face-time calls,

(I added two e-mail on my face-time setting previously)

it just works !!

Maybe that's the trick.

not being able to make calls from your mac is a firewall issue. I have mac firewall and i run Murus. i found out that when Murus is running i cannot make phone calls. however when i turn it off, it works. the only problem i have now is that when i make a call from my mac, all i get is a popping sound. has anyone else experienced this?

Switching the firewall off didn't work for me unfortunately ... Signing in and out of everything didn't help either.

I can make calls from my iPad but not from my MacBook Pro.

It also worked for me but what is confusing is why you need to connect separately on ICloud and on Facetime on your phone. I battled connecting in and out of iCloud not realizing that you needed to connect separatly on Facetime to the same account on the same device.

This hasn't worked for me and I have spent hours trying. The odd thing is that the function used to work fine, and I could call from my Mac. I am now on IOS9.1 alongside Yosemite and am with Talk Talk mobile opposed to Orange. Can these changes make the difference? Calling from my iPad works fine. I can receive calls on my Mac but not make them. I have booted into safe mode, away from Little Snitch, and the problem still persists, so it can't be firewall related.

Could this be down to IOS9 or my new mobile provider?

I have the same problem only I'm using iOS 9.0.1 on an iPhone 6S and OS X Yosemite 10.10.5 on a Late 2013 MacBook Pro, Retina, 15".

An update to iOS 9.0.2 rectified the problem. I wasted so much time. Oh well.
