Yosemite 10.10.1 update did not fix my wifi issue, did it fix yours??

The discussion about wifi issues is nothing new since Yosemite came out. Today I installed the latest update (10.10.1) which was to help with wifi issues such as your wifi dropping. I have tried every remedy that has been posted and nothing has worked. I constantly have to re-connect to my wifi network while on my computer. I guess I will sit patiently until this is resolved. I was excited to see the new update but after downloading and installing it, I see that nothing has changed. I have an iMac (2013) and have never had internet issues until I installed Yosemite. I hope the update helps you but it didn't help me.

Yosemite shouldn't affect your wifi. You may want someone to come and fix your wifi or get a new set up (forgot what it's called, sorry). Mine used to be bad, but I got mine fixed. We got a whole new setup and it works perfectly now. I got Yosemite after we got new wifi, and it's done no difference. I don't think it should change you're wifi...

You are absolutely right, Yosemite shouldn't affect your wifi. That is the whole point of this discussion, the 10.10.1 upgrade did affect the wifi of those who posted here. All you have to do is read about the frustration. I checked my hardware over and over, and that was not the problem at all. It only started when I upgraded to 10.10.1.

I tried all sorts of "fixes" and somehow, slowly, it got fixed over the course of a nightmarish month, but I can't tell you how. It's been working fine for about a month, no problems at all.

Now they have another upgrade, 10.10.2. So I was smart, and went on the forums to see what people had experienced BEFORE I upgraded this time.

See the thread at Yosemite 10.10.2 update stability issues on Mac Mini.

That just convinced me that I should ignore this upgrade altogether. I'm not willing to start that nightmare all over again! I wish there were a way to convey this utter frustration to Apple about these upgrades! I cannot trust them anymore, and I started with Macs in 1984 and loved them until now. I will not upgrade to 10.10.2 until I know it's safe!

I'm sorry, but you clearly haven't read through any of the threads looking at people's ongoing problems.

I would have to be some kind of massive coincidence that everyone complaining of issues here using Yosemite but had no problems before hand was all down to simultaneous hardware malfunctions or our own individual WiFi networks.

It's definitely a software conflict. I'm just not sure why.

After almost a week, that I have updated to OS X 10.10.2 I have to report that Apple doesn’t give a sh*t for us who have problems.

My brother, who has the same issues with his Mac, contact Apple care support 3 days ago, and told them about the following:

– The wifi disconnections is still huge problem.

– Every time that wake up the Mac and MBP it cannot connect automatically to wifi and have all the time to press WIFI OFF and WIFI ON so to reconnect to it.

– The Macbook Pro (Mid 2012) freezes 4 times per day, and have to shut it down by pressing the power button.

They told him:

“We have no reports about any problem on the new OS X update. I will guide you to do a PRAM and SMC reset”.

We don't know what to say about these guys.. They think that a PRAM will give the solution. We are really angry. We are very very disappointed with the whole situation.

The worst thing is that the system freezes itself and sometimes turn off, and some other times restarts...

THANK YOU APPLE!

Hi,

I have exactly the same issues, except for the freezing part

- my Macbook Pro (Mid 2014) seems however to find the WiFi much better if I turn the Bluetooth off ??

- this is of course not really convenient because I like to use the magic mouse

APPLE. please give us a fix soon......

Apple are not here. And I have seen no wide spread issue to fix.

Try here feedback

Cheers

Pete

hmmm...over 17,000 views already - I hope I can help!!!

Brand new 2014 mac purchased Feb 2015....did a patch update for Yosemite and have had wifi issues ever since.

So far my wifi is not dropping after my macbook pro goes to sleep and wakes up

Here is a link to where I found the answer to my problems...step 1 was all I needed

http://osxdaily.com/2014/10/25/fix-wi-fi-problems-os-x-yosemite/

I just moved a few "plist" files from the system configurations folder. See link for instructions.

After restarting I just had to create new wifi network settings. and was up in seconds. Been testing it - letting my macbook pro fall asleep - no more dropped wifi!!!! So far, so good!

I have the same problem. Tried every remedies advised by apple support and communities. Still unable to fix it. wifi did worked for an hour but dropped again. one last time, I again checked with apple support today. They have no idea when this will be fixed. 😕 Best option is to downgrade to OS X mavericks. 😟

Yosemite 10.10.1 update did not fix my wifi issue, did it fix yours??
