Yosemite 10.10.1 update did not fix my wifi issue, did it fix yours??

The discussion about wifi issues is nothing new since Yosemite came out. Today I installed the latest update (10.10.1) which was to help with wifi issues such as your wifi dropping. I have tried every remedy that has been posted and nothing has worked. I constantly have to re-connect to my wifi network while on my computer. I guess I will sit patiently until this is resolved. I was excited to see the new update but after downloading and installing it, I see that nothing has changed. I have an iMac (2013) and have never had internet issues until I installed Yosemite. I hope the update helps you but it didn't help me.

It did NOT fix my issues. This same thing has been plaguing me for weeks. So entirely frustrating. If you want to tick off your customers, just mess with their wifi! That being said, I found something that works for me: when I power cycle my modem and router, for some reason, my wifi will stay on. The next day, it doesn't, and I have to power cycle again, but at least I don't have to keep reconnecting every 15 seconds and question my sanity. Hope it helps someone.

Exactly the same problem here. Wifi was working perfectly but update 10.10.1 has just killed my connectivity (Hate myself for updating and trusting in advance!!!) Obviously I won't be able to print until Apple or somebody comes to the solution for this problem. This is creating lots of problems for my work. Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Did not read ALL the posts - sorry - but after the 10.1.1 update same wi-fi problem on my iMac. Wi-fi is lost, reconnect and it is back for some time. Where is the joy I had using my iMac. Had the same problem with my iPhone 5s running iOS 8.x. Apple stands for superb user experience, quality etc but the last month it is not going the right way. Tim, could you take care of it a.s.a.p. ?

Same story here.

I'm having a Wi-Fi connectivity problem with a pair of mid 2012 15" rMBPs and a 3rd and 4th generation Time Capsule. Everything was fine prior to Yosemite 10.10. After Yosemite, Wi-Fi connectivity was hit and miss albeit infrequently. Wi-Fi connections with either Time Capsule would just drop. Backups would cease for hours because the backup disk couldn't be found. AirDrop was almost unusable - it would simply not work for long periods of time. Recycling Wi-Fi and Bluetooth would sometimes alleviate connectivity issues for a period of time, sometimes not. With AirDrop, often one computer could see the other, but the other computer could not. Then, it would, hours later. After installing the 10.10.1 update the problem has, if anything, become more frequent. Now the Apple TV is dropping connections to streaming movies from iTunes. It's actually worse than commercials.

UPDATE: Solved Wifi issue with MBA 2013... so far!

Hardware:

MBA 2013

Clearwire Clear Spot 4G Apollo

ISSUE: after Yosemite update (and 10.10.1 update) wifi connection continuously dropped and reconnected. No issues before Yosemite.

I was able to test using several wifi networks, which other than being a little slower than expected, all worked with no connecting issues.

Attempted fixes: All the standard ones found in this forum and other places (ie. delete network settings and preferences. Delete and recreate wifi network with new name... the list goes on.) Some very temporarily seemed to solve the issue... only to see it return after a few quick surfing sessions.

SOLVE: (at least for now... I'll update this every 24 hours for the next few days)

While in an in-depth conversation with high level Apple tech Scott... I learned that deleting the wifi preferences and settings files wasn't all the files related to wifi connection. Keychain holds the wifi passwords.

I then changed the settings in my modem to not require a password. It connected after asking me "this network previously was protected by a password. Are you sure you want to join it?" (or something along those lines) I agreed and was connected without any drop offs... Yah!!!

After a few hours of success, I changed it to WPA2 passworded (same question box popped up, I agreed)... connect with no issues... Yah again!!!

AFTER 24 HOURS: Still successfully connected!!!

NOTE: I believe this issue is caused by a corrupted keychain entry. Apples help forum shows other high level network techs have notice this issue too.

I'm assuming that just deleting the keychain related to this wifi connection would accomplish the same results. You would just need to re-enter the wifi password.

Watch for updates every 24 hours for the next few days... any feedback would be great. Let me know if this helped your issue.

I have a mid 2010 mbp with yosemite, with an apple time capsule router and have never had a wifi problem, with mavericks or yosemite. Could it be because I have an apple time capsule? I haven't read every post but many of them don't say what router people are using...definitely ***** for all of the people having problems...hope it another update is pushed out to resolve the issues :-/

I upgraded my MBPro to Yoshemite 10 days ago and immediately had problems connecting on wifi to my Time Machine but ok for Internet although it was a bit slow.

I eventually used Ethernet connection to get Time Machine to work but even with Apple help couldn't sort the slow Internet!

now I've just upgraded to 10.10.1 and the Internet wifi connection was immediately useless, not seeing the router at all then seeing and connecting then disconnecting etc etc.

I know the router/Internet service is ok cos it works fine on my iMac on Mavericks plus my iPhone and iPad on iOS8 so it has to be Yoshemite so what the f--- is going on here.

After upgrading using Apples supposed solution to the problem I've now got all the other problems I didn't have before and the Time Machine still only works on Ethernet connection!!!!

Im very disillusioned with Apple at the moment!!

Yosemite 10.10.1 update did not fix my wifi issue, did it fix yours??
