Yosemite 10.10.1 update did not fix my wifi issue, did it fix yours??

The discussion about wifi issues is nothing new since Yosemite came out. Today I installed the latest update (10.10.1) which was to help with wifi issues such as your wifi dropping. I have tried every remedy that has been posted and nothing has worked. I constantly have to re-connect to my wifi network while on my computer. I guess I will sit patiently until this is resolved. I was excited to see the new update but after downloading and installing it, I see that nothing has changed. I have an iMac (2013) and have never had internet issues until I installed Yosemite. I hope the update helps you but it didn't help me.

Could it be? that my post-Yosemite 10.10.1 update has cured my WiFi problems?

Having patched with 10.10.1, the problem continued, of the connection dropping but then I followed the advice of this site: http://osxdaily.com/2014/11/19/os-x-10-10-1-wi-fi-connection-issue-troubleshooti ng/ who suggested

Create a New Network Location & Reboot

A few users have discovered that simply creating a new network location after updating to OS X 10.10.1 has been sufficient to resolve their wi-fi troubles post-update. Do this even if you created a new network location in previous troubleshooting efforts. It’s straightforward and easy to do:

(and sure enough they take you through the steps - which are easy, hence I managed it.)

Well, since doing that (it's been a day of using the laptop since this) I have carried my laptop from room to room, left it unattended for hours, and STILL... I AM CONNECTED.

Maybe - it has worked then.

For your information (ikrupp) I'm not sitting here doing nothing. I've tried everything possible that has been posted as a possible fix for the wifi issue. I like thousands of others had not wifi issues until we updated to Yosemite. We need positive feed back to solve this issue. It's obvious that an issue exists or Apple would not have issued an update related to wifi issues. I would suggest that if all you have to offer everyone is negative ****, then just keep it to yourself. Im proud that you have no issues but we do and we will continue to look for a solution to this issue. Have a good day!!

I have tried your suggestions and I am still having the same problem. I even format the laptop and installed yosemite software only with no data. Try to login to the internet and having the internet wifi problem. I have also talked the a high level supervisor at apple and he is trying to tell me that my airport card is bad. How could that be went it works on other software updates. Apple does not know what the problem is and is pulling straws. The problem is with the software "Yosemite update". My MBP works fine on the internet using the same Router, building, room, and laptop with Maverick and even Mountain Lion. Thank god for time machine old backups.

3 days ago the 10.10.1 update came out and didn't solve all the wifi issues for sure. Today on Macrumors this is what I saw Posted.

Apple today seeded the first beta of OS X 10.10.2 Yosemite to developers, just three days after releasing OS X 10.10.1 to the public.

The new beta, build 14C68k, is available through the Software Update mechanism in the Mac App Store and should be available in the Mac Dev Center soon. The beta also includes Safari 8.0.2 and an update to the Mail app (version 8.2).

Like OS X 10.10.1, as a minor update, OS X 10.10.2 is likely to bring bug fixes and performance improvements to the operating system. OS X 10.10.1 introduced several reliability enhancements, including improvements to Wi-Fi, but many users have still been reporting issues with Wi-Fi stability in Yosemite.

So 3 days later Apple is working on 10.10.2? That should tell everyone that issues still exist with wifi.

"Instead of sitting and doing nothing you need to start looking elsewhere for your issue. WiFi is an extremely complicated technology. Interference can come from numerous sources, especially if you are in an urban area with lots of WiFi networks nearby. Just because your Mac is near your router doesn’t mean you won’t have issues. Channels use, 2.4Ghz or 5Ghz nabdwidths, electrical noise, physical impairments (like metal doors, cabinets, walls, etc) can all be the issue, not necessarily Apple’s software."

This should win a price for the most useless post ever...
