Can't resize Excel spreadsheet

I have an Excel spreadsheet that I can't resize because it extends beyond the bottom of the screen. Same spreadsheet works on my secretary's iMac and we are running the same OS 10.10.

The resize button is no help because that causes the computer to go into full screen mode and then the resize box at the bottom right corner is not there. I have had this problem before but usually if I hide the dock or move it I can get to the resize box.

Any ideas. It seems that there are a number of problems after upgrading to Yosemite.

I know it's been a while since your reply but thanks for the tip. Not being able to resize that one window was really turning into a mind worm.

Not sure if this note is in the right place, but.....

I had the same problem with Excel for Mac 2011 v 14.6.7 running OSX 10.11.6 (El Capitan) on my early 2014 MacBook Air but not on my 2015 iMac running 10.10.5 (Yosemite).

On the MacBook AIr.....

1. gmardon's trick works

2. Also, the [Window] > [Zoom Window] trick works

Both methods bring the resize corner back into view.

Unfortunately after closing the spreadsheet on the MAcBook Air these window size settings aren't maintained and I have to again go through one of these methods to fix the window.

Bob - I know this is an old post but thank you X 100! I spent a lot of time trying to get this window to fit my screen. The Zoom button was the key.
