IOS 8.1.1 WiFi Problems after Update

Last night I updated the software on my ipad 4. After the update I had WiFi-problems. The network was always interrupted. Has anyone the same problems? Is there a solution? I am very grateful for an answer! I'm using an iPad 4. Thanks!

DeerSteak I'm not trying anything thou it's the truth, it happens with Apple update every time and still people are kinda forgot about it before...as I said earlier just wait for IOS 8.1.2 for the Fix and more stable iOS so no use for reporting anything at this moment Apple knows it, the bug is to kill pangu jailbreak but it kills WIFI too period...

This is fail from apple. My wife update to 8.1.1. and suddenly.... wifi doesn't work, after reset network settings, or reset ipad it works for few minutes and then again lagging and no streams at all. I tried to configure from DHCP to static IP, replaced router with diff manufacturer, no luck. I always loved apple products for their reliability, but this just *****. It's been almost month and no fix.

Follow-up a couple hours after installing.

I think they really did it. I've tried it twice so far - once after sitting about 45 minutes, and again after sitting about an hour. Both times, I'd unlock it and go straight to Twitter, and my timeline refreshed without having to disable/re-enable wifi. Hopefully when 8.2 arrives early next year with the Watch, they won't have broken it again. Might take me a few days before I'm really comfortable and start to let down my paranoia, but I'll be glad if that turns out to be the case.

pre-maturely celebrated a fix, I guess - my problem was back last night. Rebooting fixed it for a while, but it came back again.

The Time Capsule is an interesting-enough device with supposedly fast NAS that's time-machine compatible that if I knew it would fix my wifi issue I'd actually buy one and replace my router. I don't know that it would, though, so I won't.

I have a twist on this problem. My iPad mini 2 running iOS 8.1.1 has no problems connecting to wifi. My iPhone 6 running iOS 8.1.1 WAS having no problems connecting to wifi, but today, it can't seem to connect to the wifi network at my work. It was running fine on my home wifi. I tried resetting network locations, and disabling wifi networking, but no dice. I am hesitating "upgrading" to iOS 8.1.2 because a) I prefer to sync with iTunes on my MacBook Air to do that, and that's at home, and b) after reading some posts here, I'm a little scared about making the wifi problem worse. Apple has been completely silent, I see, on the wifi problems with iOS 8. Not good at all.

I have experienced this too. iPad wifi takes about 30-40 minutes to connect, and then once it does, it works fine.

Trouble is, if you are used to turning the wifi on and off as you need to use it, it becomes problematic.

There has been an ongoing issue with Wifi and mobile devices since they introduced 8.0. It seems every patch it temporarily works then fails.

It's getting really frustrating to even use the ipad. There is a massive bug with wifi and it really should be a priority fix for Apple, since being unable to connect to wifi -- or having it take forever to connect -- is a game-breaking issue, rendering the device effectively useless.

I have the same issue. I have an iPhone 5 and my wifi was working great with my router at home until I upgraded to iOS 8. My wife has the exact same phone and when she was on iOS 7 it was working fine with our router. We also have 2 iPhone 4's an iPAD 2, a mac mini, a macbook pro, apple tv, 4 kindle devices and various other wifi devices, all working great. I just updated my wife's iPhone to iOS 8 last night and now her's has the exact same problem as mine. It won't stay connected to the wifi or it goes so slow that nothing works.

Apple, please fix this issue. I have taken my phone to the Apple store and they reset my phone to factory defaults it did not fix it. Of course it works just fine in the apple store, but not on any other wifi device.

I finally read through this entire thread and saw the suggestion for resetting network connections (I had assumed it was just turning wifi on and off, it's not).

If you go to Settings > General and then scroll all the way to the bottom, you'll see a button labelled "reset" .. clicking that does not automatically reset everything, it leads to another series of menu choices -- one of which is "reset network".

I reset the network and it appears to have fixed all issues. Everything works fine now.

Hope that helps someone else.

If resetting the router or resetting the network settings has solved your problem, congratulations. You had no the same problem. The wifi problems with the iPad 2 after upgrading to 8.1.2 are still unsolved. So, please, stop confusing people: the 8.1.1 upgrade broke the wifi in my iPad 2 and resetting network is not a solution. After the upgrade I can only use wifi from Apple routers or if I am beside the router. If I need to stay beside the router I would prefer to be able to use a cable. Now the solution is clear for me: I will renew my device. I have yet buyed a new one. An Android device of course.
