Hi,
I have an iPhone 6 Plus, 128 GB in Space Grey.
The camera on my phone is peculiar in that for the first shot that I take, there is no shutter sound. For subsequent shots, then there will be.
If I don't use my camera for a while, say like half a day or a couple of hours, it happens again.
Any ideas?

This is NOT A BUG.... Shutter does not sound on Live Photos or it would be captured in the live portion of the photo. If the customer wants to take Live Photos there will be no shutter sound. If they want a shutter sound they must turn of Live Photos
Tthanks for your reply; but the iPhone 6 Plus does not have Live Photos. And this is just on the first picture take. I also noticed that unlock sounds would sometimes fail to play. Or message tones or reminders, sometimes. Phone screen would light up and nothing.
THis seems to be fixed in ios 10 though. I've not noticed the camera shutter sound not working now.
Tap "MUSIC" icon, drag the slider to adjust the maximum volume level
This worked for me. You could also load Youtube or some such to increase the 'music' volume.

Iphone 7plus. 128gb. Bought in May.
I too have this pb. Apple quality control disappeared with Steve Jobs. No shutter sound when taking photos. Live mode or not. Mute off. Sound on in settings.
