iPhone 6 iOS 8.1.1 Bluetooth Issues

I was hoping this would be addressed with each successive software update, however I am having the same issues. I routinely have been unable to connect Bluetooth devices. I have a Bluetooth speaker my new phone will no longer connect to and I can no longer get a routine connection in my car without restart my phone and or car.

I tried most of the above solutions to no avail with my newly purchased iPhone 6 plus.

My bluetooth never saw or listed any devices at all! I ended up using the apple chat and they had me try a few things I knew wouldn't help then the solution ended up being:

1) backed up the iphone 6 in itunes

2) restored to factory default in itunes

3) reset network settings

4) restored from my back in itunes

voila! works.

Posted this in another Bluetooth post.

iPhone 6, when using the phone in an auto Bluetooth system, does NOT transfer audio until AFTER the other party answers. I USED to hear the ringing, but now NOTHING until the other party picks up. Then there is a delay while the connection is established. I can't hear the other party say hello and they don't even know that I am there...sometimes they hang up. This only started to occur after the latest software update.

A brief visit to my Nissan dealer yesterday, and an appointment with their most knowledgeable bluetooth service guy led to a fix.

It now works and I am thankful to Nissan. The guy was super and just went through the whole pairing process in detail and slowly and lo and behold, it successfully paired and I was in business.

I really love the way the phone works using bluetooth in my new 2015 Nissan Altima.

I am having the same issues. I have purchased several different wireless blue-tooth devices and have been unable to connect. It is now a law in my state that you must have a blue-tooth to talk on the phone while driving. This is causing a huge problem for me as I spend a lot of time on the road and I must have accessibility to my cell phone while driving. I hope there is a fix for this problem very soon!

I guess I could say that I was lucky. My iPhone6 was my first smartphone and I had only heard of bluetooth, and had no experience. I also coincidentally had just bought a new car, a Nissan Altima. The Nissan dealer was most anxious to help and set me up with his best, most knowledgeable, service guy who also is known for his bluetooth expertise.

He was terrific and had me connected (and the connection still works every day) in a matter of 5 or so minutes.

My iPhone 6 Bluetooth paired with my Alpine car tuner fine. Can listen to music, voice mail etc. When receiving a call, i used to be able to hit the speaker icon and select the Alpine unit for hands free conversation (even after IOS upgrade)... then for no reason whatsoever, the Alpine speaker option no longer exists and I can only use the phone speaker which I cannot hear in the car, so I have to break the law and hold my phone while driving! Hey APPLE! you guys are exposed to a law suit if someone gets a fine or worse yet has a wreck because you have a KNOWN issue that has not been addressed!

Fix this!

In the meantime, does anyone have a fix short of what I've seen that requires a phone reset?

Many thanks in advance!

Chris

Most likely you have data corruption, which is not a bug or virus, but basically code that is not letting the device hardware, software, and firmware communicate. Usually these issues stem from 3rd party applications. My suggestion would be to take your device to an Apple store and let them run a diagnostic on it just to make sure your bluetooth is indeed working properly. Make sure your photos, contacts, notes, etc are backed up to your computer or to some sort of server because the most probable fix will be to wipe the phone itself and port everything back over manually, as any issue will just be brought back over from an iCloud or iTunes backup. These sort of things happen with Apple, Android, and every other kind of device. It's not an Apple specific issue, as my brother has the same issue with every Samsung, Motorola etc phone he's had.
