Yosemite 10.10.1 causing Safari not to play YouTube videos...

Hi guys/girls,

I installed Yosemite on my iMac (20-inch, Mid 2007) when it was first released and I had no issues whatsoever.

Last night I updated Yosemite to 10.10.1 and now all of a sudden Safari Version 8.0 (10600.1.25.1) won't play any YouTube videos. All I get is a black screen with a little audio clipping.

When using Firefox (v32.1.1) or Chrome (v38.0.2125.122) everything works ok.

Any thoughts?

Same problem here but mostly with my Comcast homepage video. I'm just wondering after all these people complaining of video problems why we haven't had one Apple representative intervene to give us the solution?

It's really very simple. Apple doesn't respond here. Secondly, as has been said repeatedly, this was never an Apple problem.

I'm going to agree to disagree. I typically have very little trouble with my iMac. I enjoy Apple products and think it's a great company however they are not exempt from the possibility of not quite getting something right. I had zero issues until the first update following Yosemite was launched.

I would think differently if I came here looking for answers and didn't see anyone else having the same problem as me but there seems to be many people experiencing the same pattern with the 10.10.1 update. However, I am sure they will solve for "A" soon. In the meantime, nobody will assume responsibility which seems to be the norm with all the media companies. Everyone puts the blame on everyone else but somehow all of a sudden, things will magically start working again. Time will tell. It's happened before it will happen again.

It is now working for me, I waited a few days...and something must have changed.

Looks like Youtube fixed the problem, looks like it was never an  problem at this point.

I didn't do anything nor did  release further updates...

So it now works normally for me! 🙂

I suggest everyone check again if it works for you too, I suppose it should.
