I have updated My Macbook Pro to yosemite 10.10.1 but still unable to remotely screen share to my mac mini using back to my mac.

I have updated My Macbook Pro to yosemite 10.10.1 but still unable to remotely screen share to my mac mini which is also on 10.10.1.

I can see the remote mac in the sidebar and i can file share but i cannot screen share. This used to work perfectly when i was on Mavericks but now i cannot see the screen even when i am on the same wifi network.

When i click on the 'share screen' button it opens up the 'connecting to mac mini' dialogue box but it doesn't connect, instead it just times out and gives me this error:

Connection failed to “Mac mini”.

Please make sure that Screen Sharing (in the Sharing section of System Preferences) is enabled on the computer to which you are attempting to connect. Also make sure your network connection is working properly.

Has anyone figured out a way past this problem?

MacBook Pro, OS X Yosemite (10.10.1)

Thanks for the suggestions...

So i have tried everything you said to try and this is what happened.

From the mac mini (which used to work anyway) i deleted all the passwords. I did the same on the Macbook pro and then i turned off the screen sharing and file sharing on both machines, turned off the BTMM and then restarted both machines,

When they came back on both machines complained about a few iCloud parts and iCloud email that couldnt be accessed because saved password were not available because i deleted them from keychain. I put in the passwords then i went into system prefs and reenabled BTMM as well as screen sharing and file sharing.

I then tried to screen share from the macbook and i got the same old "connecting to Mac Mini" box.

I tried to screen share from the Mac mini and i was presented with a 'enter your password' box, once entered it let me onto the macbook pro.

So from what i can see there is a problem on my Macbook Pro not allowing me to connect to the mac mini probably due to a saved password or corruption somewhere within the screen share app.

Can anyone suggest a way to reset the screen share app on my Macbook Pro??

Thanks
