My iPad2 Mail application starts, shows blank screen with header, then crashes and closes

I had exactly the same problem, namely I was going to send a mail with some attachments (6MB pictures ) and then black out, mail was probably frozen, tehn closing and back to the starting page of iPad. After that every time mail app starts meant showing a white page with some icons, but no content, then black page and closing the app.

After reading what others did in such a case: reboot iPad, send the critical mail/delete from my gmail account from other PC, later delete only gmail account (the last mail causing the crash was sent from there) from my iPad, restore iPad by a two month ago status (unfortunately i lost only some notepad messages and other staff, but mail was not recovered!!!) In the meantime the Gmail app was newly installed on my iPad and functioning perfectly!! Also i updated to ios 8.3 after crash, but no help.

Last chance was to delete all of my accounts (i had 5 different ones) and suddenly mail started to show something... Namely at the next start asking for account offering the account starting page . Then i reinstalled firstly my gmail account succesfully via running mail app and instead of new account downloaded actual mails from the server the original status of the account came up with the unsent big email attachments etc. Then i could simply delete this draft, close the mail app and install the other accounts without any problem. Now mail is functioning like before.

IN response to this and Budapest 14. I have the same problem. Trying to send a large attachment on an email. I have deleted all my email accounts (6) and have tried to add them back on. even when I try to add only 1 email account, not the same account that had the large attachment, it shows that it is added on the settings yet when I go to Mail, it appears I have no accounts at all.

I understood that the phenomena was definitely the same, but he reason behind not necessarily. However i tried to re install mail accounts started with the particular one from where the oversized mail was going to be sent. After being ready with installation, interestingly exactly the same status/picture of Mail ap returned as i sent the mail. Supposedly the whole app was frozen into that process even the content of that account remained somewhere after deleting that account. As i reinstalled the acount the previous content was reverted i could delete the big mail simply, then I could continue to use that account and then after implement the rest of the accounts.

I am having the same problem. I was trying to email a video when suddenly it froze and then was gone. I rebooted several times but it still is not working. all the other apps seem to be okay.

I was trying to forward an email with PDF attachments when it first crashed yesterday. Took a couple of tries at reopening Mail after doing Step 4, but persist and see if it works for you.

this is now happening to me after the 9.3.2 iOS upgrade
