CarPlay on 2015 Honda CRV

I would like to be added to the Carplay beta. Is there a contact at Honda you would share that I may contact to be added to the CarPlay Beta?

I would like to be added to the Carplay beta. I bought a 2015 Honda CR-V Touring. I tried the $59.95 Honda Nav app. I works but is very slow and not very usable. is there a contact at Honda you would share that I may contact to be added to the CarPlay Beta list?

Any national Honda reps contact information you would be willing to share?

Can you share us how to got it updated ?

Sorry for the bad news, but I don't believe that Honda will release CarPlay upgrade for 2015or 2016 CR-Vs.

I too was frustrated with Honda slow release of CarPlay to their vehicles. After hearing about the 2015 CR-V beta, I expected that CarPlay would be supported on the 2016 CR-V and possibly the 2015 with a USB update. However, after purchasing a new 2016 Accord EX with CarPlay, I now believe that Honda will wait on CR-V support for CarPlay until 2017 re-designed models.

On the 2016 Accord EX, the LaneWatch feature displays on the upper display screen, while CarPlay remains uninterrupted on the lower touchscreen. On the 2015/2016 Honda CR-V, the lower screen has dual purpose of touchscreen and for LaneWatch - causing interruptions while using the touchscreen or even Siri HandsFree when the right turn signal is turned on and activates LaneWatch. I suspect that this dual purpose lower screen interruption is the hardware issue that prevents Honda from publically releasing CarPlay on the 2015/2016 CR-V.

Can someone please leak the beta.

My friend owns a Honda dealer in Washington and he told me that that the will be releasing CarPlay for the 2015-16 CR-Vs and will contact everyone to come get the update. I just bought a CR-V EX-L and I asked about it. It has nothing to do with lane watch do to the fact that that can be turn off. Every thing in the touchscreen is a software fix. It's coming everyone. Be patient.

1 month later - any update / news to share? This is the first encouraging thing I've seen in months.

I have asked multiple times at my dealership and none of the techs had heard of the Beta. I finally got a response from Honda Customer Service today and they said CarPlay will not be released for 2015 or 2016 CR-Vs as they "do not have the proper hardware to run CarPlay smoothly".

I have read that people who received the Beta had smooth experiences, so I am disappointed to hear this will not be released.

Kia is now offering CarPlay for their 2014 models - Honda needs to make this right. Their beta for 2015 CR-V worked fine. http://bit.ly/HondaNoLove

We've been looking at used, Honda Certified 2016 CR-V's here in Minnesota (dealer rental cars, with low mileage) and at least for the EX-L models that we looked at, all of them had CarPlay installed. We didn't get into actually hooking up our phones and using it, but it was there.

I hadn't really looked into whether it was original to the vehicle or a later upgrade, but now I'm going to ask a few more questions as we continue our search. And I will certainly make sure to actually "test-drive" CarPlay along with the CR-V!
