iOS 8 Spotlight Search blank results bug with iPhone 6

hey all I had a friend with the same issue it turns out he had that many apps there was no free spots on any of the home screens and so I got him to place all the apps into folders (there is a limit of 135 apps per folder) and then I got him to restart his phones/ipad and the issue was resolved I haven't heard any more from him about it, the biggest thing that threw my friend and I off when sorting out the issue was the fact the issue was present on 2 of his iphones and his ipad the reason for that was he had automatic app downloads turned on for those devices so for the most part all the apps he had downloaded on each device were on all the devices. another step you can take is go into settings general spotlight un tick all the spotlight options then restart your device then re tick all the spotlight options and do another restart which should rebuild the spotlight index hope this helps.

I get this problem too. I find that if I kill a certain app running it fixes it every time, it is always the same app. just go through your running apps and kill each one at a time and test. In my case it is always mocha vnc lite I have to kill.

Spotlight search works for me now with the above 'language change' solution.

I have two iPhone 5S with iOS 8.1.2 and the same issue as you do.

Hope Apple will fix it in next release

I just tryed the solution of Groovely with disable Mail from indexing.

I disabled it and restarted my iPhone and Spotlight works now.

It works but is not my solution as I wold like to search in Mail Content to :-(

Several Mail Accounts and one Exchange Account is includet.

Languge change solution worked for me (including Mail indexing and everything else active). Maybe this also forces spotlight to re-index?

I've been having this issue for months and I figured it would be fixed by now. Please fix Apple. This is unacceptable.

I see this on an iPad Mini and an iPhone 6. This as perhaps my most used new feature in iOS 7, when this stops working and doesn't find apps I'm seriously handicapped as I don't even remember what folders apps are in anymore 😟

I forgot to mention it's happening on my iPhone 6 and brand new iPad Air 2. All with current iOS 8.1.2. Please fix!

Yes I know... These are Apple's support forums. My comments were directed not to the people of this thread but to Apple and hoping that someone (from Apple) would see it. I figured that was quite clear. Thanks for the input though. Hopefully this issue gets fixed.

The problem with trying to get Apple's attention on this site is volume. I don't know the count but my guess is several hundred posts per day so the chance of someone from Apple coming across your request for help is slim to none which is why you need to contact them directly. While you likely won't get a reply all submissions to the Contact Us link do get read. Cheers.

I understand that, however I figured I would add my voice to this existing thread about the same issue. I'm sure they'll fix it eventually.

Today was released The 8.1.3 IOS version and this bug is Fixed.

Lets prove.
