My iPhone 6 Plus dropped in the toilet?

I had just finished sending a text message and I put my iPhone in the pocket of my sweater. I reached over to flush the toilet and my phone fell out of my pocket and into the toilet, it was in the water for about 2 seconds. I took it out and started drying it. I got home about 5 minutes later and immediately submerged the phone into a bowl of rice. Does the rice method really work on iPhones? Specifically the iPhone 6 or 6 Plus? and if so how long should I leave it in there? In addition where is the water indicator located on the phone? Thank you Apple community!

Dropped my I phone 6 plus in water for about 2 seconds, Happened a week ago. I removed case and dried it off immediately. I placed it in a bag of rice for around 2-3 days and did check on it. It dose work but will not hold a charge more than a few hours. It dose get hot sometimes too. Anything else I can do? I cancelled my insurance last month and was going to go to the apple store and put insurance on their, but to late now.

Make an appointment at the genius bar of your local Apple Store and pay for an out of warranty replacement.

I dropped my iPhone 6s in the toilet a simeler story to you, and I put it in the airing cupboard for 12 hours and mine is working just fine now

I try to dry it with a paper towel and put it in rice for couple of days and it will not turn on so I was wonder if there is a safety fecture on it that I can turn on
