Safari update 8.0.1

Hey, I can't seem to update to the latest version of safari. I click on update in the store and it looks as if it's going to update, then it says it's installed but it hasn't. It then goes back to having the 'update' button again.

The 8.0.1 was O.K. on my MacBook Pro, but we missed that upgrade for our IMac. I did the 8.0.2 for both the MacBook Pro and the IMac. I held my breath, but everything went fine. Now if we could just get something done with Yosemite! Whoa better than fine even! I didn't try Safari after the upgrades on both computers I just saw it was still there, but after trying it the icon no longer bounces up and down on my dock many time before it opens. Way to go Apple--now nail Yosemite!!!!!!!!

Hi. I was one of the people having issues with Safari disappearing with the 8.0.1 update. I had followed someone's advice and found an older version of Safari on one of my backups on my G-drive. I installed that on my computer. It had an older icon (pre-Yosemite) design. It appeared in my dock but the window failed to open. SO....I installed the new 8.0.2 Safari update. Now, the Safari icon looks new, like the rest of the new icon designs. It is installed but the window won't open when I click it in the dock. The only way to open it is if I go to "History". Does anyone have any idea what I should do or what is happening? Thanks!

Ok...my safari window is opening now. I guess it just needed some attention! In case anyone has this problem, I went to Safari preferences and just looked around--I didn't push any buttons or anything! Then I went back and tried to open the window, and voila. One eyebrow is permanently raised on my face. Well at least it's working. Good luck, Safari solvers!
