iPad Air 2 can't play YouTube videos in 1080p

Hello,

Ever since I bought the iPad Air 2, I have not been able to play YouTube videos in 1080p. I have tried reinstalling the application multiple times but to no avail. I am using the 16 GB version and iOS 8.1.1

iPad Air 2 Wi-Fi, iOS 8.1.1

Same here. I recently bought iPad air 2 and noticed the 1080p video quality issue on YouTube app. I have no problem with my other devices (PS4, iPhone 5s, Sony Vaio Laptop) so it's not my network.

I work on the YouTube app and just noticed this thread. I'm able to reproduce the problem, and we're looking into it further.

If you have an issue with the YouTube iOS app, please also post it on the relevant YouTube product forum - https://productforums.google.com/forum/#!categories/youtube/ios - this will help bring it to our attention.

SSame problem here. I just got the air 2 about 2 weeks ago. 720 p works great. But when I try 1080p, it doesn't play at all. And when it does, it pauses for minutes at a time. It's a shame. I thought the air 2 is supposed to be more powerful. Imy internet speed is constantly at 50mbps . And the YouTube video seems to download quickly. It simply just doesn't play the 1080p vids.
