What is the best way to rip an idvd disc?

I have made a bunch of Idvd projects containing a main Imovie, shorter Imovies and a Slideshow.

I burned them on to dvds and so they are no longer on my computer.

I want to rip them back on to my mac as one integrated project instead of separate pieces so, I can store them on an external hard dive.

The only program I've tried is Handbrake but it pulls everything in separately (the movie, the slideshow etc) not the whole project together.

Is there any software that would keep my movies in a Idvd formatted project?

Thank You!!!

b) And how do I import those files, as you mentioned, from the video folder to iMovie so I can sort them in a new project to replicate my original DVD disc?

You need to covert the VOB files with whatever converter app you choose to use into movie files that iMovie can import those into iMovie.

I don't quite understand about the part about the converter app. Are you indicating there is another app that I need to move those files into iMovie? If so, what are the apps to choose to do this?

And, do you have any answers to my previous questions from #2 in my last message?

I appreciate it.

Thank you for the helpful information, but I prefer if I could find a more affordable and quicker solution. I believe copying to Disk Utility is a good way to do, especially since I don't have too many DVDs that I want to copy (they are DVDs I burned a while ago). I have v10.8.5 and I am still unclear as to the exact steps to actually save the copied disc into my hard drive and the import it to iMovie 11. I just don't want to burn it only to another disc, but save it in my hard drive and use it in iMovie. If you have copied DVD disks before using Disk Utility maybe you can help me out with that. Some people on the forms just provide quick snipets of information but not a clear 1,2,3 step instructions (without the extra fluff in between). When someone like me (I guess, a newbie) is not working with this stuff 24/7, it is a bit challenging to suddenly understand it completely unless clear instructions are given that are to the point and understandable. I do appreciate your helpful information though on Cinematize 2.
