I get duplicate photos when I sync my iPhone 6

When I plug my iPhone 6 into my iMac, duplicates of each photo on my camera roll appear in iPhoto.

I have Photo turned off in iCloud.

Any ideas?

Plastico,

No luck.

I selected all 4 iCloud Preferences in iPhoto, closed iPhoto, re-opened iPhoto (still selected,) deselected each, closed iPhoto, re-opened iPhoto (still unselected,) took iPhone 6 photos, synced iPhone and duplicates of my camera roll photos appeared in iPhoto.

No change.

Thanks for the effort. Hope your problem remains resolved.

Have iPhone 6 and have duplicates too. I have tried all of the above to no avail. BTW, I have seen this issue in the past, so I do not think this is new, sort of an Apple glitch in their iphoto program. Maybe that is one reason for the new yet to be released photo program. Very irritating. the cloud just creates havoc with all of the preferences, way to complicated to deal with IMHO.

rj5620, I'm having the exact same issues as you. Tried all these options and nothing has helped. I've also seen this issue in the past and I remember it just fixed itself (I assume with an update) but I kept all my photos on my phone until then and finally did a massive import. I guess I'm just old school when it comes to syncing and like to import things manually? I can't seem to grasp on to all this auto iCloud importing/uploading stuff.

SO...

I did what Shanny2015 said to do but nothing changed so I closed all apps, restarted my MacBook and my iPhone then went to sync again and my photos WEREN'T duplicated. SO weird. I know I never changed those settings before hand so something must have with an update? Hope this works for everyone! Good Luck!

Same problem with iPhone 6 linked with MacBook Yosemite.

I tried other suggestions with no help.

I decided to try this protocol and it worked.

Go to iPhoto > Preferences > General then Click on option saying "Connecting Camera Opens", Select "no application"

Next time you wish to download pics to iPhoto then change "no application" to iPhoto.

Haven't tried that yet to see if I get duplicate downloads again but for now, when trying to sync my calendar and iTunes quickly plus charge up my phone

I don't have to worry about duplicate photos being downloaded each time.

Thanks Shanny2015… Had the same problem and your trick worked for me. Question is… now that I've successfully sync'd and the duplicates are gone, do I now re-select Importing: Copy (in addition to turning back on my photo stream options in Preferences->iCloud) or now just leave all of it off?!? Anybody? What to do now? Thanks
