If so: Burkina Faso.
I here its lovely this time of year.
No. It's a game called "Geography". You have to give a place name that begins with the last letter of the previous country. So, although Burkina Faso is no doubt quite lovely, it is, sadly, a wrong answer.

Are we doing city names as well? We're going to run out of "A" countries pretty soon.
That's a common problem with Geography. We play that any geographical entity is allowed, but you get to make up your own rules.
It can also be played with animal species, Star Wars locations or people, Lord of the Rings, etc. A great many variations.

Ahh, my mistake. I humbly retract my post.

Gail and I figured the thread out to be good for something.
TThere are 27 pages in this thread repeating over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over that say you can not upgrade an iPhone 4 higher than 7.1.2.
WHY did you waste your time asking? Do you think the answer will magically change if you ask just one more time?
Well, they would just start all over again anyway. People are going to ask the same inane question, and despite there being 5,749 pages of answers, they are still going to ask it anyway. As savvy as millennial's and beyond are supposed to be, their search and find answers skills seem to be sadly lacking. My guess - if the answer doesn't pop out in flashing lights and scroll across the bottom of the screen, they just simply do not know that the little boxes with all the writing on all the pages actually has information in them.... Nothing is moving - the screen isn't popping all over the place with other hints and ideas, there is no video. It's just dead space with letters. What are they supposed to do with that?????

Yup. I've seen a couple of new threads on this issue in the last few days. Niel caught one that I noticed.
iOS 8 is no longer available for download.
If your iPhone is an iPhone 4 it cannot update past iOS 7.1.2
If your iPhone is a 4s, then it can update directly to iOS 9.3.5
IPhone 5 or newer can use iOS 10.3.
Beyond that, using iTunes on a computer has no relation to the iOS version on your iPhone. You may need a specific iTunes version on your computer to sync with a specific version of iOS on your iPhone,
What exactly do you want to do?
I m agree with u I have also same problem I am from India and I only want to know that if ios 8 or 9 is not compatible in iphone 4 then when we download apps like Facebook from App Store they show me to upgrade your phone upto ios 8 then what we do I know I am not so much educated then peoples who are working in Apple who arrange all the things so pls help me I am also want to become an software engineer but these things discourage me pls send mail when u will find solution
You cannot upgrade an iPhone 4 to any version later than 7.1.2. Facebook has decided they do not want to support 7.1.2. You can complain to Facebook, although don't expect success that way.
Your only options are to get a newer phone (4S or later), or access Facebook using the phone's web browser.

You know, it amazes me how a thread can go for 3 years and 33 pages, when the very first post after the OP answered the question. The other 32 pages are "me too"! 😕
Or sometimes Gail and I (and a few others) playing Geography. The fact that the "me, too!" posters never seem to notice (or at least never comment on) our games or my requests for outlandish things indicates to me that in addition to not reading the thread before posting, they also don't read it after they post a request. Double the uselessness.
Actually I was replying someone who posted here. Seeing as how they post and then never return, thanks for posting back to me instead.
I wonder is it has ever been considered to lock threads that turn into drivel such as this has so they can't be posted to any more or is that too intelligent of an idea here?
huh? I'm sorry I don't understand this lingo, I have my iphone 7 plus running IOS 10.3.1 and this MacBook that I update and rarely ever use so don't have much understanding as to how to fix!? thats all but I appreciate your time and enjoy your beer
OK, so if you are asking something about a Mac, then you need to start a new thread. This one is about a wish to do something that is impossible, and 34 pages of "you can't" don't seem to resonate with anyone who posts here.
Whatever it is you are asking is not related in any way, so you need to start a thread of your own with a complete and clear question.

So, the thread boils down to this:
Level 1 User: "I want to put iOS 8 on my iPhone 4".
King_Penguin or Allan Eckart: "The iPhone 4 is not capable of being upgraded past 7.1.2"
Idris: "I want a Porche."
Gail: "I want a million dollars."
Level 1 User #2: I want to put iOS 8 on my iPhone 4"
Lather, rinse, repeat. The order of statements is actually irrelevant, apparently.
