Seriously? You read nothing from the thread you posted in?

You cannot update an iPhone 4 beyond iOS 7.1.2

You cannot update to iOS 8

You cannot update to iOS 9

You cannot update to iOS 10

You cannot update to iOS 11

You cannot update to any iOS version after 7.1.2

Hopefully, that should clear up some things

Hi I am complaining about the lack of effort yous have put in to put the ios8 and onwards on iPhone 4.the lack of not attempting is causing me not to get snapchat and Instagram and other social media sites meaning I can not communicate with friends meaning I am having to use my money to communicate at home

Your sincerely

Miss Sophie, I am sorry to say that it is not because of lack of effort on the part of Apple why the iPhone 4 is not capably of being upgraded. The reason is the hardware inside the iPhone 4 is not able to execute anything beyond iOS 7.1.2. If you wish use SnapChat, Instagram and the other social media then you are simply going to have to upgrade to an iPhone that is capable of support it instead of your obsolete iPhone 4.

You are not addressing Apple, this is a user to user support forum. The iPhone 4 hardware is not capable of supporting an iOS later than iOS 7.1.2. The fact that application developers such as snapchat and instagram require a higher iOS to run is their issue. They are the ones that decide what versions they provide in the App Store. So, if they decide it takes a higher iOS to run their app, then you might want to complain to them. Understand the iPhone 4 was released in 2010, six years ago. In technology terms that is quite a long time. While I'm sure your device may still be functioning properly and suiting your needs, it is not capable of handling the demands of iOS or applications.
