Dell P2715Q for 2013 Mac Pro.

The new Dell P2715Q 4K monitor looks to be a technically compatible monitor for the new Mac Pro. I see it supports DP 1.2 and MST.

Anyone using this monitor and and vouch for its use.

Thanks.

The same thing just started on my Dell, which is a dual monitor with the MacBook Pro 15" 2014 model. Actually, I usually put everything in "sleep" mode and turn off the Monitor, and so today when I hit the "enter" button, and hit the power button on the Dell, and enter my password, everything works. Today, however, nothing worked! I had to completely power off the MacBook, retstart it, turn off and unplug the Dell monitor, and then basically go thru the entire process. Now it is just getting the same rapid flickering, which makes it totally worthless. I tried plugging in the USB cable directly to the Mac, thinking that perhaps the USB Hub was faulty, and oh, now the screen went dark for a few seconds and has come back much less bright. This is going back if I can get a refund, unless Dell has a solution!!

Hi Maoxiong!

Everybody is having the same issues, my guess is that the OS isn't fully compatible with the display yet.

My solution was turning Sleep mode off on monitor and OS, turn on the main display, then the MacPro and after the desktop loads I turn the second display on. About the flickering... never happened to me, but sometimes one monitor, always the secondary, goes black for 5 second and then back on. Again I really feel these aren't faulty monitors... just an OS thing...

well, it works, and then it doesn't work. I've fiddled around with the USB plugs, trying to see if there may be something funky with one of the USB ports, and sometimes this makes a difference, and sometimes it doesn't. Anyone have any guess as to when Apple will provide a fix to the OS so that this problem stops? Makes me want to go back to a PC!!!

They are running at 60Hz.

I also tried the display on my Late-2013 15" Retina MBP with HDMI, and that worked nicely, but at 30Hz. The difference was very noticeable. I didn't feel like disconnecting everything to try mDP port.

No Mac of any description so far made can do 60Hz via HDMI. 😟 This requires HDMI 2.0 whereas all current and past Macs only do HDMI 1.4a. 😟
