Can't download Yosemite, Get button not working

Trying to update to Yosemite but the Get button is not responding. It stays grey and I don't get the green Install App.

I'm trying to update from the last version of Snow Leopard.

We have this same problem - trying to upgrade to Yosemite from 10.6.8 on a MacBook Pro (mid-2010). Called Apple store, and they said it would be fine to upgrade. This page says this old Mac can upgrade. This page even tells me how. But I can't get past step 4 - "Get OS X Yosemite from the Mac App Store." Whenever I hit the "Get" button, it just goes grey and nothing else happens. We even waited a LONG time - in case something somewhere was thinking. We would VERY much like to find a solution to this.

Forgot to mention that we even created a new Administrative user - and tried to "Get" the Yosemite download from within that user account. But we got the same result. 😟

I have the exact same problem. The "Get" button greys out and does nothing. If I click on "Free Upgrade" it also does nothing. I can verify, via the Activity Monitor, that it is not downloading in the background. It's just doing nothing. I've rebooted several times and created a "test" account as well.

I have an awfully old MBP but it is running 10.6.8. It's an Intel something (I wish Apple gave their MBPs sensible names).

Me too

Clean re-install Snow Leopard to most recent update

None of the App Store install buttons work now, Mavericks had worked fine until wiped the HDD

I've tried resetting all keychains on other devices in case it is an app store security bug, no help

Until I found this thread I've been through 4 attempts at installing Snow Leopard and resetting NVRAM very frustrating.

The only success I've had is re-installing MS Office 365 but I can't sync it. The office installer is on MS website but Onedrive is only on the app store.

Microsoft 1 Apple 0....not thought I'd ever post that.

Many thanks for the post, I was on my way to the Apple Store but I'll call tech support for a ticket, get this moved up...

Glad to know it's not just me having this issue. I did a clean install of 10.8.8 on my wife's "late 2009" iMac thinking that I could easily upgrade to Yosemite - ya know, clean install and all. After I got everything updated, permissions repaired, and zapped the PRAM I went to the AppStore to download but the "get" button doesn't seem to work. Like others mentioned when I click it the button just turns gray and nothing happens. This happens when trying to download other apps too. I just reinstalled Win7 on an older Dell XPS laptop and it went as smooth as silk. C'mon Apple, you're better than this.....
