Safari 8.0.2 will not install
MacBook Pro with Retina display, OS X Yosemite (10.10.1)
Still no success.
Clearing Safari cache didn't help.
And clicking on "Install Updates" instead of "Update" or "Update now" didn't work either.
Apple support recommended to try with another user account (or even guest account).
I don't have one. Can somebody try and confirm, please?
Have tried creating another administrator account but that didn't help. Have also tried deleting the cache and that was also no help.
Have reinstalled Yosemite which reinstalled to 10.10.1. Safari is still stuck in the App Store update page and will not update.
Tried again today and it just installed!
Im still unable to update to safari 8.0.2. Any help?
The problem still exists.
Now both, Safari 8.0.2 and the RAW Compatibility Update 6.02 are affected.
Updates of non-Apple apps work correctly.
- reboot didn't help
- logout/login to the Mac App Store didn't help
- different account didn't help
- clearing Safari cache didn't help
Hi Linc
I have the same problem - Safari 8.0.2 and a couple of other updates not installing. I just tried reinstalling the OS and it did not fix the issue. Have also tried the other suggestions about the cache etc.
Not sure if it's significant but I noticed when I click update, the download indicator flashes quickly across, the app button shows as installed then reverts to Update.

No solution for me yet. I have:
All without luck. Now, in addition, Safari is extremely slow. I am using a late 2011 MacBook Pro. Safari 8.0.2 installed fine on our 27-inch iMac.
I Have the same problem too with a brand new 2014 15 MacBook Pro retina. This *****!
I have this problem too. My current list of programs that install themselves over and over and over is Safari 8.0.2, Digital Raw Compatibility, and now the new NTP...
(Macbook Pro, mid 2013)
Having the same issue. And also with the NTP Update and the support Webpage is also not providing a dmg download!
If that level of service continuous, I can buy MS products again.
Also seeing that the NTP security update is not working. My issue is happening on a relatively new iMac - for what it's worth, I have an old iMac running Yosemite and similar software installed that is running the updates with no problem.
I've now updated those items manually using the direct downloads from the Apple support web site. I suspect the problem with App Store updates will continue...
Do you have a link to the Apple support page where this download is available? I have scoured support and App Store and can't find any download for Safari 8.0.2 (or any recent version). My impression is that Safari has to be downloaded as part of the OS, but perhaps that applies only in certain countries. I am in the U.S.
Safari download is available with Developer Account only.
Not sure about the RAW update and os x security update.
All the the other Mac App Store updates work fine.
Only Apple apps cant be updated.
