I need to draw some shapes as overlay on a video and want to capture screen to generate output video so that everything I draw and work on screen comes in generated video.
I am using iPad 2 with iOS 7. I have also tried to capture screenshot programatically but playing video frame come as black frame in output.
Is there any way we can record screen with mentioned functionality and submit app in itunes?

Your app can only record it's own views.
Other apps are off-limits due to obvious security and privacy concerns.
If I read your question correctly there is no way to screen record just using your iPad.

I am playing video inside app using MediaPlayer framework and added player view as subview on a particular area on my screen. I have also tried to play video using AVPlayer and added player view layer as sublayer on main view layer.
In both cases, video playing part does not come in output. Only the other activities which I am doing on screen appears in generated video.
How can I capture playing video with other overlay activities in output?

I have recorded the video from camera in iPad and then imported that video in my app.
In my app there is option to play video and add some overlay drawings like a coach want to instruct something by drawing line, circle etc.
Now if user draw something on playing video and try to capture screenshot, drawing will appear in output but original video which was recorded from iPad and played using media player does not appear in output.
What could be the best approach here for a coach to instruct using drawing on a playing video and by giving audio commentary. We need to generate the complete analysis video as output.
